I did a bunch of Googling when I looked for old images by Dr. Seuss to use in my latest Chick Tract spoof. Some of the images I found were appalling. I got the impression that Theodore Geisel was a pen for hire, without much principle. I may be wrong, but the evidence isn't good.
Here are some examples:
Dr. Seuss on racism:
Good Seuss.
Bad Seuss. This justifies detention camps
for Japanese-Americans. Geisel needs Flit.
Good Seuss. Geisel's metaphor predates "Ebony and Ivory."
Bad Seuss. So very bad. This, just to sell bug spray.
