I decided to fool around some more with one of the classic Charles Atlas comic book ads. Here is the shameful result:

For some reason this one made me laugh the most! Thanks...and where does a colloquialism like "cheese done slid off the cracker" come from? I live in the Dank Deep Dumb South and have never heard that one!

Thank you!

It's 'sposed to be a North Carolina slang expression, meaning the fellow ain't playin' with a full deck of cards.

Excellent, except us rednecks don't eat a lot of cheese. Thanks for the chuckle.

Lessee, didn't Atlas' excersize program have something to do with isometrics? He used to advertize it everywhere.

Yeah, the Atlas system was a form of early isometrics. Didn't have to deal with shipping wieghts that way.

I picked up the "Seems this boy's cheese done slid off his cracker" phrase from a site that claimed it to be genuine NC slang. Darn! Must be effete, artsy-fartsy, citified redneck slang, if it's in use at all.

Thanks for PMing me with a real one, "He's a'huntin' but his dog run off."
