As we all probably heard from the constant bombardment by the media on the story, Heath Ledger died yesterday. If you aren't aware, he is one of the stars in Brokeback mountain, and is staring as the Joker in the new Batman movie.

That said, it's no surprise that Westboro Baptist church is acting in an entirely predictable fashion, and has plans of picketing the funeral

What's surprising to me is the fact that they can afford to, especially after the 11 million dollar lawsuit they lost...

I've unfortunately spent a lot of time in church over my life and I've never in my strangest experience heard hate attributed to God like this. These guys exhibit one of the scariest aspects of the human condition - how you can be a total monster and simply not realize it. Naturally any sufficiently introspective person will at least diddle with the question in reference to their own self. Are you a monster? No? Are you SURE about that? Yeah? Well so are these people.

Edited some spelling...

Well I wish I could say I was supprised, but I am not. I hope his family will get the best security agency they can hire and that these guys come nowhere near the funeral.

I wouldn't be surprised if the church is swimming in money, from what I have heard of the 'generosity' of other churches congregations.

I think it was inevitable theyd picket or attempt to.

For someone so obssessed with sexual morality (well one supposed facet of it) its strange he doesnt have a problem with his daughter having had her first son outside marraiage.

On a related topic has anyone else actually listened to one of his sermons? It takes an average about two minutes for it to become an incoherant scream laden rant. They are at times almost literally incomprehensible. They are also all the same just the names change.

1. He's not worth it.

2. His fellow Americans ought to show him and his congregation a bit of real Christian teaching - "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" - and - "Turn the other cheek" - and give him respectful privacy on his death. But alas, not many devout christians in America seem to want to act like devout christians.

3. Blah blah blah.
