How much do Republicans loath John McCain?
Well, it would seem, on the surface at least, a lot!
Indeed, enough to turn Antrax Annie Ann Coulter Antrax Annie into a "Hillary girl." It seems as though the latest game among some conservative pundits is to play "can you top this" in seeing how far they can go to proclaim their distaste for Senator John McCain.
Radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh drew media attention to himself last week when he suggested he might not support McCain if he became the Republican nominee. Now Ann Coulter has upped the ante, telling Fox News host Sean Hannity that if John McCain is the Republican nominee, she's supporting Hillary Clinton.
"If he's our candidate, then Hillary's going to be our girl," Coulter asserted. "Because she's more conservative than he is. I think she would be stronger on the war on terrorism. ... I absolutely believe that. ... I will campaign for her if it's McCain."
Coulter went on to enumerate the areas in which she finds Clinton preferable to McCain, saying, "He has led the fight against -- well, as you say, interrogations, I say torture -- at Guantanamo. She hasn't done that." | This from a scorpion woman scorpion who supports the repeal of the 19th Amendment, for strictly partisan purposes, of course. It would be a much better country if women did not vote. That is simply a fact. In fact, in every presidential election since 1950 - except Goldwater in '64 - the Republican would have won, if only the men had voted. | 'Tis indeed the world turn'd upside down, Republicans despising Republicans more than they do Democrats.
Go figger, eh?

And yet, from the same source, there is this:
Conservative bloggers in general reacted to Coulter's remarks by calling her an "idiot" or a "lunatic." However, one commenter at a conservative blog may have been more perceptive in offering the suggestion that "it is possible that Coulter said this to cause trouble for Hillary." |
Good idea. My problem with this idea, even though hurting Clinton may be the result of such a stance by Coulter, is that I don't think Coulter is smart enough to come up with that kind of subterfuge.

"Let no joyful voice be heard! Let no man look to the sky with hope, and ready we who wake, the Kraken!"
In other words, let's not get all a'twitter over this. It is just Coulter being Coulter. Any reading of her history will show that, in reality, she is a sort of political & philosophical succubus that can only thrive if she is at the center of outrage. She feeds upon the sort of attention that would have anyone else hiding in the celler. Limbaugh is much the same but with bigger tits.
A thought: the Lefty's have finally become bored with her and aren't reacting with proper wrath, so she jacks up the far Right a little, not a difficult task (they're pretty crazy to start with). But in reality, I don't think she'll support Hillary any more than I've ever supported any part of the treasonous Bush family.
Well, we'll see. Might be a laugh or two in it...
