This is from another forum that I found really interesting. The first article is from the Sun and it describes the UFO and how the UFO "researchers" think this is a clear case of a real UFO. The article also mentions that the photographer did not notice anything untill he downloaded the picture. It think it is pretty clear what the UFO is, if you need some help to identify it look at this .

Yeah I didnt even need help on that one its obviously a sea bird a few hundred feet from the camera. Which is why the photog didnt notice it when taking the picture, nothing strange about it. |

Big Papa Smurf.....
I said:I don't think there will be a whole hell of a lot of investigaton of this one! | Big Papa Smurf said: Trust me, there never is. | Well, yes, Big Papa - sometimes there is! Other times there has been a lot of investigation, too! In fact, here in reverse chronology from 2006 to 1591 are 259 incidents, ranging from ridiculous to not so ridiculous, some of which were investigated with competence ranging from poor to excellent. I could also give you a bibliography of over 300 - and growing - compilations of investigated UAP incidents.
Maybe if you read up before saying: "Trust me, there never is." ?
I offer the above links only to demonstrate that there has been and continues to be a lot of investigation of UAP.
I do not in any way state that any of the cited investigations have turned up incontrovertable evidence of anything other than something was seen, but there certainly have been investigations, and many extensive ones! A little while back when I was playing keepaway with the Forum, I tallied, for my own information, over 1000 investigations ranging from frivolous to dead serious over the past fifty years. I cite about 50 selected UAP investigations, of varying degree of thoroughness, as examples of widely differing perception of this phenomenon in my book. You, and other SF's, will have an opportunity to read these when I complete the proofs!
I have never been very interested in strictly anecdotal, non- corroborated, non-investigated accounts of UAP experiences. Most of that is woo-woo, or just plain prevarication! But it is a mistake to write off all UAP phenomena as either woo-woo or non-investigated, or both.

Yeh, an easy one. You'd think the editors, or somebody, at the Sun would have caught that. Oh, wait.... Isn't the Sun a tabloid owned by Rupert Murdoch? I do believe that it is; that might explain a lot!

I really loved this sighting. Turns out I've been watching thousands of UFOs for decades here in Half Moon Bay.

Yeah it is like being a crop circle expert (and of course I don't mean the people that make them).
I was channel surfing and they had program with psychic researchers on it and my son turns to me with an incredulous look and says, "that's a real job"?
It's a funny world we live in...

I went to a UFO meeting recently. Wait, scratch that. My friend dragged me to this bookstore for other reasons, and there happened to be a UFO meeting going on. My friend was busy talking to someone else, so I had a few minutes to spare. I sat my butt down with these people, avoided eye contact, and just listened to their conversation.
It started okay. This guy was going on about how he had seen this UFO, and how he knows his claim is just an idea, not yet supported by enough evidence to be fact, and how nobody believes him that it was a spaceship, and that he wouldn't believe someone else with his story if he hadn't witnessed it himself. Then he said: "But once I saw that thing, for me it became a fact. I can't change that. I can't pretend I didn't see what I saw."
Not a 100% skeptical analysis, but not too bad.
Then it did get bad.
The other two people latched onto this statement and suddenly were talking as if the guy had just proven that aliens and spaceships are a real fact. Within 10 minutes they had covered everything from alien involvement with Egyptians to Jesus and the aliens, to spaceships made of pure consciousness. What the hell does a spaceship made of pure consciousness look like?! And to round it all out, after they concluded that the aliens manufactured humans, they started discussing the question of who made the aliens and if there is a God. WTF?
How did they get from point A (nobody believes me and with good reason they don't believe me.) to point Z (wild speculation) with such total disregard for the value of at least moderate critical thinking? For instance, even if someone is just so enamored with the mystery of this photo and the possibility that it is a spaceship, so much so that it doesn't even occur to them that something mundane like a seagull is much more likely, how do they then go on to any detailed and specific assumptions about it?
The people at this meeting had all read the same books (they kept mentioning certain authors and titles), and their knowledge of real scientific facts was paltry. They weren't lazy, 'cause they bothered to collect all this information about aliens. They weren't stupid, at least in the sense that they all followed a fairly complex conversation and kept it internally consistent and comprehensible. I don't get why they don't pour all that energy and curiosity into learning about real biology and astronomy. I guess they are just determined to maintain this fantasy 'cause they feel they're missing something in their lives. But then why not fill it with art, music, reading novels, watching films? I don't get the appeal of convincing oneself that fantasy is fact. It seems childish and potentially dangerous.

You read enough books, talk to enough fellow believers, and it ain't long before you're a fully functioning member of an alternate reality.

Marf, when are you going to admit to yourself that your defense of religion is strictly motivated by personal relationships you don't wish to injure?
