So today at the bus stop, a bunch of guys are handing out a news letter. The article on the front looks fairly benign, and may be an interesting read. So I don't mind accepting one.
Look inside and low and behold, it's really just a scam to get you to look at crap about Christianity and a bunch of dates for church gatherings. It's only the front page that looks like a general news letter.
This is not an isolated case. A friend who stayed on campus at university once went to a "free" dinner. There was no indication that they would try to convert her. She's a poor student, of course you go. They start eating and, bam, out come the evangelists.
What a bunch of jerks. Even missionaries have the decency to advertise their intentions.

Never accept a freebie from a stranger on the street, Grasshopper. It will be to his benefit, not yours, every time. And thus, he's feeling very good about accomplishing his mission whilst you had to search out a trash can. This is a survival lesson that you should keep close to your meditations.
As for your friend, I congratulate her on her fortuitous dinner, but remind: there ain't no free lunch! Another of life's important lessons passed along relatively painlessly.
