From Linda on Ray Comfort's blog.

This is so out there I just had to share it. (yep, I'm an ****) too! (those from the most recent chat will get the joke)

BTW, your comment on a 'brilliant' Darwin is absurd. I read a book on Darwin and it paints him differently than the "A"s show him.

He was aboard the HMS Beagle, but he smoked hash, a drug abuser, and was a womanizer, when he paid for it. He made his 'half wit' conjectures under the influence of alcohol, and sea sickness.

I don't know about you, but that is not my kind of hero! :)

An outcast of the science community of that day. His conjectures were REJECTED!
He was put in a Insane Asylum!

Are you sure you know Darwin as well as you proclaim ?

That is NOT .. Brilliant!

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.

Another example of this guy's lunacy here.

Neither. What we have here is an ignorance so willfully and even clinically profound that Darwin himself would wonder if his theory had an unexpected flaw, had he encountered it. It is to be pitied rather than scolded, with a straight face if possible.

Evidently, this heifer's ignorance extends to History as well as the Theory of Evolution. In Darwin's day, hashish and laudanum were common remedies for pain, seasickness and a variety of other ailments. And officers & supercargo drank alcohol if only to avoid drinking water that been stored for weeks/months in wooden casks as much as possible, without doing an Exxon Valdese manuver.

It's amusing that these fundie bumpkins go to accusations of womanizing when they run short of other nonsense to monger. It's even more amusing that they think anybody today cares about skirt-chasing in the 1800s. If it occured. I don't recall reading anything about Darwin being a lounge lizard, but then, I've always been more interested in his studies than his love life.

None of it, none!, affects the validity of the ToE in the least and wouldn't even if every word were true.

What's funny is the post is demonstrably false, and around here, even when we agree, if a historical mistake is made in a post (or really, any mistake) it is quickly pointed out. I'm betting that Ray's minions or Ray himself will not mention the inaccuracies in the post.

I'm thinking of signing up and posting something along the lines of "It is well known that Darwin was regularly seen having drinks with Satan." If I appear to be a creationist, my guess is Ray will have nothing to say on the subject...

Uncertainty may make you uncomfortable. Certainty makes you ridiculous.

Why not question something for a change?

Sounds to me if it were true (which it almost certainly isnt) that he was just following, creationisms favorite mariner, Noah's example of getting plastered and waving his penis about after a long boat trip!
