This new show titled "In search of Eden" is broadcasting on TLC April 21st,26th, & 27th. http://tlc.discovery.com/convergence/eden/eden.html
Here is the summary of what the show is supposed to be about:
quote: For centuries, scholars, explorers and theologians have searched for Eden and its fabled garden paradise. Now, at last, expert David Rohl presents us with startling new evidence that traces our origins back to Eden and reveals its true location. He peels back the layers of myth to expose the extraordinary truth that lies at the heart of the book of Genesis. In Search of Eden overflows with amazing discoveries and brilliant archaeological detective work.
It will be interesting to see how scientifically accurate this show will be. I am a bit skeptical.
In the meantime, they have a poll that asks which creation story people believe. Sadly enough, right now most voters have voted that they believe in the literal version of the Genesis version in the Bible. It would be interesting to see if anyone changes their mind after they have viewed the show. Anyway, if you want to vote in the poll then go here: http://tlc.discovery.com/convergence/eden/poll.html
Also they have a forum about the show and it's subject here: http://tlc.discovery.com:4000/mb/user/msglist.html?Topic=In+Search+of+Eden&target=_top&NoFrames=1

The poll, while a bit depressing, contains no suprizes. Critical thought seldom involves a ball, so only small percentages of the population do it.
I'd like to see this one, myself. Unfortunatly, I don't have cable or satelite, and my tv is mostly off, anyway. Hoping someone here gives us a run down on it.

Check out the Q&A with David Rohl: http://tlc.discovery.com/convergence/eden/expertqa.html
quote:
Question: Do you consider yourself a man of faith or religion, as well as a scientist? And if so, how have your own discoveries affected your personal beliefs?
Answer: As my previous answer indicates, the interest I have in the Bible comes from my historical research. I am not a religious person — in the sense that I do not hold to any particular faith. At the same time, I do not regard myself as an atheist. Perhaps one could best describe me as an agnostic. Of course, the fact that I (and others) have convincingly demonstrated that many of the events described in the pages of the Bible really did take place is of great comfort to people of faith who have long been fed up with being told that the Bible is a fairy tale. However, discovering that the Old Testament reflects real history need not exclusively be of interest to Christians, Jews or Muslims. Anyone interested in uncovering truth or finding explanations for the mysteries of the past can get a great deal out of this new research.
Interesting. I am surprised he admits he is Agnostic.

I've noticed a lot of that going around. There's a Creationist named Hugh Ross who likes to call himself an Ex-Chistian. They must think that it lends them some strange sort of "authority" . Look Pa even the Agnostic Scientist admits the truth of our lord jesus!!! Praise be!

From the American Heretic's Dictionary (Chaz Bufe): An agnostic is an atheist that craves social acceptance.

A creationist ex-Christian? How is that possible? To be an ex-Christian isn't there some implication that one does not believe what the Bible says? Could I be a God fearing Atheist?
