That story was in our local paper today. Only in Alabama, huh? I can't imagine anybody saying that the deceased was in hell at his funeral. But, then again, I'm an 'evil atheist,' so what do I know?

Hi Rev, and welcome tp SFN!
Ain't it a trip? I recently attended a funeral of a friend - I'm old enough to start losing them, and one day they'll lose me.
I found the service extremely depressing and not at all what he might have wanted. His family (these are all pretty serious Christians) loved every minute of it, however.
I think that's what it's all about. The corpse of honor means little; it's all for the survivors.
Well, my survivors ain't gonna get it, not according to my will, they ain't. O'course, they might want to party, but it'll be strictly BYOB.

I always said to my friends, "Send me to a taxidermist, sit me in the corner with a beer in my hand and start drinking heavily." Once the alcohol kicks in they will think I'm still alive and start talking to me.

I have made it clear to all my christian family members that I am not be buried in a christian funeral.My brother is also free of childish superstitions and I will not allow him to be put to rest that way.Just fry my ass and spread me out on the front lawn ,I love my lawn
