Anything specific? Anything you can post here so we can have a look?

Generally speaking, the errors in religion are dangerous; those in philosophy only ridiculous.

Glad to be of service.
X = a number
Does that bring back any memories?

A quick search turned up this., which may be of some help:

http://library.thinkquest.org/10030/algecon.htm

You can find lots more by going to www.google.com and searching "algebra tutorials" and similar keywords.

As to specifics, word problems (most of them anyway), radicals, rationals, radicals, and I'm having a bit of problem with complex fractions.

Basically, the basics.

Thanks TD, for the pointer to the tutorials. The one offered through the text book requires a registration and fee.

If it makes you feel any better, I just got my (aptly named) BS degree in Math and I still have problems with that stuff. Actually, whether it makes you feel better or not I still have problems with that....

The only advice I can give is this: the ability to solve math problems is a skill, just like most things. The more you try it, the better you will get. Just don't get discouraged: everybody sucks when they start up after an extended period with no practice.

They're going through the information so fast, that things are being skipped. I understand that they have to try to get through the information, I just feel lost. I'm the only one who hasn't been through this stuff recently.

I never was one to grasp this stuff easily, at least not as easily as I have grasped other subjects.

Like Boron says, it just takes practice.
I wanted so badly to take Algebra in Jr. High school and they wouldn't let me. I quit high school so never got to take it there either. When I started Jr. collage at 18 yrs. old, that was my 1st chance to choose my own classes. Was excited to be in that class. Problem was there were 60 other students in it too and no chance to ask questions or get individual help, I got an 'F'. But a bit later while getting my high school diploma concurrently, I took it there, less than 10 people in the class, I got a 'B'. And went on to Geometry and some trig. (also getting good grades) it was great and very understandable. Some people just need a little help. Don't give up.
