I haven't been able to get to SFN since this morning. Has anyone else had trouble? There is a major web-wide denial of service attack going on. Could be that, but I dunno for sure.
I am just glad to see everything is still here

I've only been on line for about an hour answering email and just came on here now at 10:40 PST aprx. Good thing I didn't turn on the computer today. Missed all the excitment. LOL. Anyway, I wouldn't worry. Even if it's down for a while, something will happen and thigs will be back again. I'm sure you do back ups, right!

As it turns out, there are actually 2 different problems effecting web servers right now. The one I was referring to previously is the "Red Worm" that is designed to attack the White House. Each infected server send 410 megs or so out each hour clogging things up now that an estimated 200,000 servers are infected.
The second one is the IIS Reset attack. I think SFN suffered from this 2 days ago. It's not a virus but it still causes problems. The web server would constantly reset itself if attacked constantly. I noticed that SFN seemed to be resetting frequently 2 days ago but is under control now.

I couldn't access nearly all day yesterday, but I hadn't heard of either attack.
I did hear a blurb about the rail tunnel fire in Baltimore which one news commentator said was affecting web access, but I don't know what he based this on. That fire is still going on.

I had trouble connecting to a lot of sites yesterday. Even Earthlink's site was screwed up. The funny thing is, if every server administrator had been on the ball and installed the patches as they should have, there would be no problem. Doh!

It's all beyond me, not having kept up with the technical aspects of computer use.
You and all webmasters have my respect. What's amazing to me is that in all the time I've been reading this board and the shorter time I've been posting, yesterday was the only real problem I've had, and it's not an issue with your site.
