Ok, first of all, is the us goverment targeting only the sharers or the downloaders as well when it comes to programs such as kazaa, and second, if it is targeting the downloaders as well, then what do you think of it? I believe it is a subject worth having a debate over.

The U.S. Government isn't targeting any users of Kazaa or any other file-sharing program. The RIAA, a non-Governmental, for-profit organization, is the one filing lawsuits. |

The debate has been done, read Music Industry Offensive
Just reading through it again, I'm sure Dave W. remembers it quite well.....
Yes Dave, you do rock
Edited to add that Dave rocks |
Mistakes are a part of being human. Appreciate your mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons that can only be learned the hard way. Unless it's a fatal mistake, which, at least, others can learn from.

This raises an interesting point. I don't think that the government yet realizes just what a powerful entity the 'net is. I further think that neither they, nor even we, realize just how powerful it can become as the technology gets better, and more and more people in divers places get on line.
Think about it. At the click of a mouse, any of us can send any sort of information or dis-information around the world. In all but a few countries, this is all but unregulated.
Sooner or later, even George the Cretinous will figure it out (maybe). Then what is going to happen? Hmmm?
I think that a lot of legislation is not too far in the future.
