Yes, I saw the poll. I took a long, hard look at it. I don't even suspect the accuracy of it. I hear people talk about real ghosts that live in their houses all the time. I had to start leaving my Gullability Detector at home because it had a tendency to overheat.

I am less worried about shows like the X-Files(that I personally watch religiously) than I am about the shows with names like Million Dollar Mysteries or Crossing over with John Stewart.
Hee hee! Is this some new show on Comedy Central that makes fun of Crossing Over with John Edward?

I think John Stewart hosts both shows.

Tokyo, what's the name of the show? When is it on? This is almost worth dusting off the TV and finding the remote! Lisa

I personally do not believe in ghost or supernatural phenom., but everyone has a story: When I was in high school, me and three other friends were at the local mall during lunch. One of the guys was kinda into satanism (not seriously, probably more to entertain others, but he did do some wacky stuff.) We were heading up the escalator "teasing him about satanism" he got serious for a second and shouted stop and the escalator stopped immediately. I must add none of us were any where near the emergency stop button.
Coincidence, it had to be, but what are the chances. Even though I do not believe I still find it amusing to entertain such thaughts. Perhaps over time I have forgotten details and make it out to be more than it was. Maybe people like that feeling of being scared. Maybe we allow ourselves to be scared just for the rush.

Most likely he played a prank on you. That'd be a good one!
The first thing that pops into mind when people tell me these kinds of stories is "just imagine what kinds of things can and would have been accomplished if that kind of power actually existed". But because nothing more grand than things like stopping escalators has been documented, I believe that is enough to say definitively that it doesn't exist.

I think it's unlikely that anyone will ever prove that psi exists. But I wouldn't rule out the possibility either. Once again, I believe a skeptic should be open minded. There is no doubt that I have a bias when regarding paranormal claims but I think it is important to remember that "absence of evidence is not evidence of absence."

Just to be properly skeptical, I personally believe that, with things like Psi, one does not rule them *in* until they can be proved to exist. Psi, so far, has not been validated in a properly monitored and controlled test, so I shall not hold my breath waiting for its validation in the near future. Now, where can I find the politically correct smiley faces???

Then again, my hastily derived ideas on the subject have yet to be properly validated in such a test.
