ChristianExodus.org has been established to coordinate the move of 50,000 or more Christians to a single conservative state in the U.S. for the express purpose of reestablishing constitutional governance. It is evident that our Constitution has been abandoned under our current federal system. The efforts of Christian activism have proven futile over the past five decades and, whereas desperate times require desperate measures, we are now in the most desperate of times. The federal government is considering whether marriage, the foundation of civilization since Creation, should be reserved solely to a man and a woman. Christians must now draw a line in the sand and unite in a sovereign state to dissolve our bond with the current union comprised as the United States of America.

This can only be a good thing for the rest of us. I hope they don't come to Michigan. It's bad enough here as it is. . . .
EDIT: This quote from the site really gives you a feel for how far their heads have gone up their asses:
quote: Matter of factly, the liberties we have lost to liberalism over the past century will be restored in one fell swoop.
I'd be interested to know which liberties these folks think they have lostto liberalism in the past century. I suppose they feel their greatest enemy on the civil liberties front is the ACLU! LMAO! It's like something out of 1984. Creepy, really.
EDIT 2: Oh, all I had to do was read on to see a list of the restrictions on their liberties:
quote: 1. Abortion continues against the wishes of many States
2. Children may not pray in our schools* 3. The Bible is not welcome in schools except under strict FEDERAL guidelines
4. The 10 Commandments remain banned from public display
5. Sodomy is now legal AND celebrated as “diversity” rather than perversion
6. Preaching Christianity will soon be outlawed as “hate speech”¹² 7. Gay marriage will be foisted upon us in the very near future
How is the legal marriage of gay people a lost liberty for Christians???? What these people REALLY want is to live in a country free of the liberties imposed on the nation by Liberalism. I wonder if they recognize this truth and the rhetoric above is intentionally misleading or are they just ignorant?
EDIT 3: <snipped out tasteless Jim Jones reference>

I heard this as being in South Carolina. They would then seceed from the Union (again) and impose their own rule of law.
I hope they actually do this. They'd go out in one helluva blaze of Koreshian glory.

This statement cracks me up. I laugh everytime I hear it. If marriage is such a pillar of civilization (which they claim and provide no evidence to support) then why aren't they concerned with the overwhelming statistical failure of marriage? (i.e. the number of marriages that end in divorce).

Yeah, some people are just incapable of learning from history. Any state that tries to drop out of the Union will get their asses hammered. |

Because it's easily fixed by outlawing divorce. Which is much simpler once you have a country of your own. |

Yes, divorce is another means that liberalism has taken away their civil liberties. I'm sure their plan to restore that civil liberty will involve making divorce very difficult and/or illegal. |

What a bunch of whinypeepants babies. It must be horrible to be Christian in America! How oppressed they are! How tragic!
I suppose they won't mind giving up their tax breaks, federal subsidies, libraries, roads, and anything else paid for with US federal tax dollars, right? After all, they won't be Americans any more. No way do I want one penny of my taxes to be given to such an archaic, bigoted, moronic group of numbnutses.
Or maybe I'm just in a bad mood.

Bah! Just more wind from the frantic fringe, neither more nor less. These dingbats might well set up some kind of commune in SC, and it might even be a bit more elaborate than the Branch Davidians' Waco lash-up, but it'll not amount to a hill of beans.... Mmmmm, beans....pintos with a goodly bit of side meat and tabasco peppers..... Oh.... Wait....Where was I?
Hmph.... Ok, yes. Here we are: Unless they go out Jonestown style, of course.
If one reads back over the decades, even the centuries, there have been a hell of a lot of these turkeys who want to set up some sort of elite, religious colony that will be a shining light scowling down upon a sinful world. With the exceptions of today's major religilon, they all have failed. This one will also fail, assuming that it's not another scam, in which case, it will be a roaring success. Typically, the faithful are told to give up all their earthly possesions. Guess who profits from the faith.

Maybe they should go to the Middle-East, chase a bunch of Arabs into exile, and build a new state on their land. It's not an unprecedented model for the creation of a religion-based state.
