Maybe or Maybe not. When you look at the OT the Hebrews saw his power, and were guided by him, yet they distrusted, whined, and complained and disbelieved he could do what he said he would. Only a few stuck by.... Maybe I should call you Joshua? No offense please.

BTW, bravo on raising 2 kids. I mean it. I've been married for 7 months now and the children issue is being banted around. It looks...difficult.

Ditto. I know for sure that I've no patience whatsoever with whiny little brats. Maybe it'd be different with my own, though.

Children are an adventure for a dedicated couple and a challenge on top of an adventure for any single parent. I would not presume to advise you beyond saying that my girls and their children are the greatest joys of my life.

Looking at the OT, and I have, it is reading another book(s). The authors are unknown and thus their verasity is in doubt. And when considered in the context of inexplicable events discribed, the doubt deepens.

Call me Joshua if you must. It's a good name -- my younger grandson has it.

I had similar thoughts at your age. Now, with my son soon to turn four, I can say: it's different.

Of course, I'm told the teen years are the worst, but I was also told that age two would be worse than it was.

That's not the ways of all men! Free choice Ain't it wonderful! What if this guy was an eviloutionist attempting to make Christians say things like this.

What came first the chicken or the egg?

How do plants exist without bugs in the soil, and bugs in the soil without plants producing oxygen?

There are no atheists in foxholes

Underlying the evolutionary theory is not just the classic "stuff" of science — conclusions arrived at through prolonged observation and experimentation. Evolution is first an atheistic, materialistic world view. In other words, the primary reason for its acceptance has little to do with the evidence for or against it. Evolution is accepted because men are atheists by faith and thus interpret the evidence to cor-respond to their naturalistic philosophy.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. II Timothy 4:3,4

II Thess. 2:11 And for this cause God shall
send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

You can not see the 'wind', but you can see its effect!!!!

Evolution was caused by genetic mistakes at each stage?

Radical Evolution has 500 million years to find fossils of fictional drawings of (hard core)missing links, yet they find none.

We have not seen such moral darkness since the dark ages, coencides with
teaching evolution in schools. (Moral darkness)

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places, EPH 6:12.

"Thus, many scientists embracing naturalism find themselves in the seeming dilemma recently articulated by biochemist Franklin Harold: "We should reject, as a matter of principle, the substitution of intelligent design for the dialogue of chance and necessity [i.e., Darwinian evolution]; but we must concede that there are presently no detailed Darwinian accounts of the evolution of any biochemical system, only a variety of wishful speculations."

Free choice is indeed wonderful, and who gives a dingo's kidney what the Christians have to say about it? I am perfectly content to let them march along toward what ever goal they have in mind. Just so long as they don't try to drag me with them.

I give the Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Confusions, Wiccans, and all of the bewildering multitude of others the same latitude, even though many of them would not be so generous toward me.

What makes you think you have any inkling of what goes on in the mind of some omnipotent being? Did you play tennis with Jesus, and listen to him with your own ears talk about how he's holding his father's temper in check? How do you know that Allah isn't real and that he's getting ready to destroy all non-Moslems? Or how about Shiva getting ready to blow us all up?

The blindness of Christians is astonishing.

Actually there have been some studies that strongly suggest homosexuality is due/traceable to a hormone wash of estrogen or testosterone during the 7th week of gestation. The strength of the wash is directly related to the degree of homosexuality upto and including transgenderation. It may have nothing to do with genetics but an in-utero occurance.

That being said - it's still not a choice, and Phelps needs a life.

Add sarcasm and wit to the mix of the two year old and you'll have a good idea of where your kid will be as a teen. At least in the teen years they're mostly reasonable. Then again - I like my kid.

There is also statistical evidence that suggests it is a heritable trait.

Read it in a book called Genome.

To no avail, I fear. It will make him hate the Swedes yet more. Perhaps that's the point.....?

I seem to recall posting a biography on Phelps a while back. It's not a pleasant read. I'm convinced that the old bastard needs to be put in a rubber room and heavily medicated. I'm convinced that it should have been done decades ago.

What puzzles me is why and how he gets so much press. His ministry, if such it be, is confined little more than family members and his public frothings are ridiculous to anyone with the ability of coherent thought. All but the most rabid of homophobes think of him as a vicious clown.

I also might ask: whence comes his funding?

At least Falwell and Dobson have some style, of sorts. Phelps has nothing but insane vitriol.

I can live with it.

I 've got the impression that homophobia was widespread in the US. I would not be surprised if it won W the election. The message that homosexuals are a threat to society is important to some groups, even those not as rabid as Phelps.

Coulter seems to make a decent living out of that as well....

Ah, but Coulter has pretty good legs and female plumbing. That counts for a lot in these days of "Family Values." She gives the majority of the Neo-cons and the Blithering Heads hard-ons. They need her for it.

The first time I saw her live, I got a hard-on, too. But then she wagged her jaw, and the glorius event turned into a mere piss tube again.

I think that the majority of Americans simply don't care what the gay folk do as long as they're left out of it.
