Yes he did, but people simply don't get it. They get stuck in the details, y'know? |

You all say with such certainty that a person 2,000 or so years ago said a particular thing. It might be more accurate to say he was reported to have said it. |

I believe in enlightened despotism. Since I'm enlighted, I should be in the governing body.

Since you're proficient with handling snakes, why not Secretary of Snake-oil Oversight Committee? |

Right up my alley! Just call me the Viceroy of Venom, with emphasis on the 'Vice' . It will be a good chance for me to legally peddle off dispose of those 36 cases of Columbian Cancer Cure and All-Around Rejuvinator merchandise that the police failed to find that time when they had to drop the charges for lack of evidence.

Well, they exist, don't they? So what's there to believe? Now, do they work?
Polls are liable to the same statistical errors as any research, combined with the ability of people to change their mind depending on the outcome of the poll. So my trust in them giving a good prediction depends on the time when they are giving it.
I do not think democracy is a very good system. Unfortunately, I don't have a better one handy, so we'll have to stick with what works the best and democracy seems to fit the bill.
Now, did you have anything intelligent to add to the discussion? |

I think Totalitarianism is the way to go, of course you need to enforce the right ideals for that to work and "right" is an opinion, so your public will always be against you to some degree no matter how strong the Cult of _____ is. |
"...things I have neither seen nor experienced nor heard tell of from anybody else; things, what is more, that do not in fact exist and could not ever exist at all. So my readers must not believe a word I say." -Lucian on his book True History
