Here's the NASA/JPL site with the images from the C-H probe that just landed on the surface of Saturn's moon, Titan.

It's so very exciting!!!

Well, beskeptigal, it was mentioned over on the Skeptic Summary #23, where the European Space Agency is linked.

The photos are amazing-- particularly this one:

It was taken from about 8km (5 miles or so) up, and you can really see the topography of the Titan landscape!

(edited again-- with many thanks to Ricky-- so I could link the image!)

(Note: actually, the Summary doesn't link to the ESA; it links to a story on MSN. Originally, it was supposed to, but I guess Dave over-ruled my suggestion... )

Where the url is just the url to the image. For example, the one above is this

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.
