After reading your link to "The Wedge Strategy" I will consider me Anti-ID.
It describes a plan of Indoctrination witch perhaps will lead to the creation of a Theocraty if it succeds.
Nobody tells me what to believe! My Beliefe are personal and built on own experiences.

So you Believe you have a Soul, or could you present some Evidence?

Contradictory?

To me is seems contradictory.

If I explain it this way: Sceptic before Believing and/or Sceptic/Believing in different subjects.

As such, the result is too much depended on personal bias and wishful thinking. My conclusion is that there is yet no evidence of God.

When I was little I thought one could get in connection with Jesus by Either strictly follow the words in the Bibel or follow my brief feelings
I was seriously Humiliated and devoid of trust.
But the peace in my heart allways remained more or less...
I tried Everything I could imagine to find the source of the peace!
Fasting and trying to live in perfect rightiousness.
Sinning and Blasphemeing.
Teasing and trying every logical or Philosofical approach to get a reaction
It wasn't before I surrendered and cried my heart out in hopelessnes I've got His attention

The Evidence lies in the trust that He's allways with me that I feel in my Heart.

Furshur.

Faith comes into play when we have no evidence or understanding for something and yet we beilieve.

Furshur, I admitt It's a major obstacle to measure something Supernatural.
For example, if we analyse the Statement in the Bibel that "We are created in his Image".
An Image can't ever Be the same as the object represented.
It will allways lack some Dimension of reality.
A picture of a person has only 2 dimensions.
A statue lacks Complex Biological properties, and so on.

As you surely know, Stringtheory has arisen the need to visualize and analyse the properties and behaviour of strings that presumably has more dimensions than used in conventional mathematics.
We have to see what future discoveries brings us, if we live by then

Tried that. I'll admit it brought me peace - but whether it was simply because I surrendered, unloaded all my emotions in tears and some pillow-spanking and eventually became exhausted and in terms with myself, or because of divine intervention...

I'm sure many of the people involved in ID would prefer a theocracy, so long as the theology involved matches their own.

Good for you.
quote:

You misunderstand. I don't believe in souls at all, I was playing Devil's Advocate. Those who believe a soul wouldn't feel threatened by a burnt-out lightbulb. Your analogy between God and a lightbulb trivializes the tenets of the Christian faith. Your own faith, it appears.

And that isn't evidence which can be shared by any other person, nor can it be examined in any objective or logical way. It is not a "test" which would be acceptable to a skeptic.
quote:

Evidence of your faith in God is nothing more than evidence of your faith in God. It is not evidence that God actually exists.

Ah... Now that makes more sense. Actually, I never had much trouble accepting evolution while I was still a Christian.

Maybe it's easy to armchair quarterback, but I always feel FOX picks speakers who don't articulate scientific principles very well.
