I apologize for jumping in late here, but what class, exactly, is it that teaches "mystery schools"?

I dislike pushing, but which university was it where you studied and which course of study did you engage in?
In a previous post in this thread he said he attended Indiana University in Bloomington. What I would ask is which one of the History majors he was persuing.
History History of Art History, Philosophy, and Comparative Education History & Philosophy of Science
All of these are offered at his Alma Matter.

YOu really know how to agitate people don't you. My major is Archaeology/Anthropology. I study WORLD HISTORY. No philosophy is included.0.what you are trying to doing is just flat out pathetic. HIs school offers all of them. I know what you are really trying to say, so just say it. Quit beating around the bush. |

I'm betting it's the 300 or 500 level course on Cultural History of Astrology.

I was thinking the same thing. What difference does it make if you have or have not gone to college (much less graduated)? Going to college and taking a class taught by another human being does not make a person more or less intelligent and able to cogently understand these "complicated" issues. Hubris.
Exactly! The same can be said about evolution and the academics which teach that. See how it works?I never said anything about me going to school meaning anything other than the information I have recieved is from academia, just as your information is supposedly and also that what I have learned is just as relevant, IF not more, than what you are talking about. |

I never said any of this. I a merely saying that alot of my ifo comes from a college, and to dismiss it all, is not very bright. That is like dismissing all of the info you have brought forth, because they come from similar sources, academia. I was saying that my info is relevant, that is it. If it were not, millions of dollars were waisted in this colleges foundation, and the people who have earned degrees from there. |

Well I am glad that you think you can sum up thousands of years of mystery school teachings, and a quarter of semester of college teaching in one weak website. You obviously don't know what you are talking about, and I don't know if you are worth adressing anymore. |

You mentioned that modern religions share the same symbols? Which symbols are these?
All of the above and some others. There info all comes from a similar source. In my class, we traced mystery schools from babylon, all the way to modern day europe. Column making, and certain poses and sculptures of rulers were straight from mystery schools in the past. They carried mostly the same symbols, then as they do today. |

Again, I'm sorry I haven't been able to keep up with this discussion as well as I'd usually do. However, could you elaborate some on the "as far back as 3000 b.c." thing? What can you trace back that far?
Mystery schools go as far back as civilization. We merely traced it back to around 3200 b.c. or so.Just because you don't know of it, does not make its existence cease. |

some of their main symbols are..the all-seeing eye on top of a pyramid, obelisk, serpent, sun-disk, "star of david", pentacle star among some others. The "gods" of these schools were the sam, they just had different names. The deities stories were nearly if not all the same. |

Why not provide some links or sources of your own that more correctly reflect what you mean by “mystery school?” I googled mystery school and this is what I got. It looked like the most complete site on the subject.
And by the way, I am getting real tired of watching you chastise every person with whom you do not agree with ad hominem attacks. What does a person have to do? If you didn't think the site I posted was a correct overview of mystery schools, just say so and leave personal attack out of it. You would be getting a lot less shit if you tried that. I mean honestly, you seem to go out of your way to be antagonistic…

You are right. I don't have to. And I won't, as long as you guys do the same with me. But don't do me this way either. I apologize.Unfortunately, I don't have ONE website that can sum up everything that I learned in and outside of school on mystery schools. I will look and get back to you. :Like I said before, this is a lot of info! |

I got the impression that you were a history major. I see that I was mistaken.
I was just asking which course of study you persued.
You seem to be reading some sort of insult into a valid question. |

As it was the only course that I thought might teach something on mystery schools, I thought it was a good bet.
The question as to what course you took concerning mystery schools stands.
Is it juvenile to want to know more about a course that you allude to?
Your continued taking insult with valid questions is getting old. |

I also learned that some of the most famous people in ancient times until today were apart of a secret society that studied these "mysteries". Aristotle, Socrates, Plato, Alexander the Great, Constantine the Great, Vlad the Impaler, Aristocracy from all over the world, world leaders etc.Same symbols, same knowlegde stream. |
