The government has nothing to do with this. Every user who signs up to use these forums agrees to abide by the forums' rules.
The courts have held consistently that private organizations *CAN* restrict speech as it regards standards of acceptable speech within the stated rules of that organization.

Oh, it's even better than that, Fripp. The "I'll fuck you up" comment isn't even protected speech, but is instead a threat of physical violence. Since it crossed state lines (necessarily), it represents a Federal crime. Our registration agreement clearly states that criminal acts are forbidden. I'm willing to overlook that violation, though, on the grounds that (A) it's unlikely that HYBRID could ever have made good on the threat, and (B) HYBRID is such a nobody that the Feds wouldn't waste money prosecuting. |

Not quite sure what it is you are talking about here. All of my comments on this threat thus far is about your post yesterday. I was not on the SFN yesterday so this was my first opportunity to address it. You claim you dealt with this yesterday, but I can find no evidence of it. Please tell me on which page of this thread you "dealt" with this and reached an agreement. |
