I must admit to not following Bigbrain's threads all too closely. Has he ever said why NASA would go to all this trouble to fake the moon landings?

You have done nothing but blither the same crap, post after post, with exactly zero support for your claims. The fallacies in your reasoning have been pointed out to you time and again, but rather than go back and do some fact checking, you simply puke the same claims out all over again. I can almost predict what you will post, and it gets little old and tedious after a while. I have been described as having the patience of a corpse, but you are wearing it down thin.
How delightfully graphic! Do you by any chance write for a living, Filthy?
I do a little free-lancing now and again; sometimes I even get paid for it. But as for making a living at it....... Hah! Editors are dimwitted louts with no imagination and less literary taste (Dave W excepted ).
Sooo bigbrain, you are convinced that during the middle of the Cold War, the main antagonists: USA & USSR, barely on speaking terms with each other and with missils loaded and locked, conspired to run an extended spaceflight hoax?
Not even the most drug-addled of fiction writers would would try to foist that clunker off on the public (even though a fair percentage of that public will believe anything, present company as an example). Do you not see how ridiculous that is? Especally as you have no documentation, reliable or otherwise, and will refuse to look for any.
Bro, you've gotta quit going to those woo-woo sites. They're turning your logic circutes into rancid anchovie paste. Or failing that, at least get your meds updated. Yeesh!

Oh my, page fourteen already? Soon we will have gone 45 pages in which bigbrain has yet to offer valid support for his claim and had his (gag) evidence easily debunked, mostly by those who don't spend nearly as much time or energy as bigbrain does defending his claim. I suppose it is possible that there are some here that are just addicted to bigbrain's epic goofiness. I dunno. If this, ummmm, debate is still going on a year from now, I will start to worry about the sanity of our members… |

Eh, it's a good way to kill an otherwise dull Sat, -- work on the rifle and it's matching powder horn (from a bison) for a while, and chase bigbrain around the site for comic relief.
I hope he's still hangin' in when I begin to build the pistol to complete the set.

bigbrain, you have obviously not done your math correctly. Please provide us with the formulas you used for the calculation of the re-entry, including the one which calculate atmospheric drag. Then we could sit down together, compare notes and see where the calculations went wrong. Or at least figure out why our numbers differ so profoundly. |

WTF is that? Looks like a shot of the moon that had an accident during development...
But fear not; here's something of real interest: quote: The first sea discovered on any surface other than Earth's may have been found on Saturn's moon Titan.
New radar images from the Cassini spacecraft, which made its eighth close approach to the moon on 7 September, have revealed what appears to be a very distinct shoreline, fed by meandering channels carved deeply in the surrounding terrain.
The dark, flat region next to the bright shoreline "is the area where liquid or a wet surface has most likely been present, now or in the recent past," says Steve Wall, Cassini radar team deputy leader from NASA-JPL.
Fascinating, no?

Hey, look at this very interesting thread here:
All Forums >Our Skeptic Forums >>General Skepticism >>>Why Most Published Research Findings Are False
Do you remember when I said:
"You would have to read a book written by an Italian scientist, Silvio Ceccato, who has demonstrated that about all the news we can hear from radio, TV, magazines, newspapers, or talking with people in general, things stay this way:
1/3 of the news is false 1/3 of the news is true 1/3 is a huddle of false and true news
Reflect, think, consider, ponder on things".
Really it's strange that in a "skeptic forum" ("skeptic" in Italy means "incredulous") nobody tells me: "You could be right".

And do you recall that pithy statement by D.A. Filth: quote: All news is bullshit until verified!
I think that those who witnessed the launch and those who worked in the control rooms, as well as those who built the craft, not to mention the records kept of it all, are sufficent verification, don't you?
D.A, goes on to state to the effect that "those who deny fact are doomed to to an existance of subsisting on bullshit -- how sad; there are so many....." quote: "Reflect, think, consider, ponder on things".
Do you think that we haven't? You, on the other hand, have not put forth a single reason in favor of us changing out minds; leading us to conclude that you fail to follow Silvio Ceccato's excellent advice.

It's pretty good verification, especially when you consider that many thousands of people worked on Apollo, from NASA leadership down through the many, many subcontractors.
I have had the privilege to work for and with some of those people, although long after Apollo had concluded. It was really enlightening seeing engineers of that caliber at work.
But in the case of Apollo, you don't have to be an engineer to check out much of the story. You only have to take the time and trouble to study the record and learn some of the relevant principles. It's been my experience that every one of the real Apollo hoax believers to date simply don't understand the basic principles in whatever area they're making claims. For instance, claiming that gravity works on planets, but spacecraft are too small to be affected by it. (Which, of course, means that there's no such thing as a communication satellite. All of those satellite TV dishes are obviously pointing at empty space!) |

Interesting that so many of us are wasting our time with this bufoon. What is it that drives us to reply to such stupidity? 45 pages and Bigbane is not even on the fence. I have to give him props for sticking to his guns even though they're just water pistols. If we can put a man on the moon we can ignor one idiot. |

Eh, it's kinda fun, even though he shows an appalling lack of logical and critical thought. Steadfast determination in the face of all opposition is an admirable trait, but only if one carefully examines all sides of the argument and knows himself to be correct.
I must say, he's lasted longer than most....

At 7,300 metres (24,000 feet) the RCS is disabled and the forward heatshield jettisoned.
Also known as the apex cover, this part of the heatshield wraps around the CM forward compartment where the parachutes and their mortars are mounted. Once jettisoned, a small parachute attached to it slows it down to take it away from the descending Command Module. 1.5 seconds later, two drogue parachutes are deployed to stabilise the CM's attitude and slow it from 500 km/h to 280 km/h"
HA,HA,HA NASA's buffoons continue to use acronyms to solve unresolvable problems:
ELS (Earth Landing System)
SECS (Sequential Events Control System)
NASA's buffoons continue to lie impudently.
"... two drogue parachutes are deployed to stabilise the CM's attitude and slow it from 500 km/h to 280 km/h"
Have astronauts landed at 280 km/h
Then, already burned to death, the three poor astronauts have broken during splashdown.
YOU ARE MORE AND MORE GULLIBLE PEOPLE.
You are just a damned ignorant twit.
Drogue chutes are deployed to slow the craft down before the main chutes open. The main chutes open and further slow the craft to about 30 ft/s (9.1 m/s). That translates to 32 kph. |
