Drat!! They missed! The mission's not a total loss -- much has been learned and they still have a chance of pulling it off.

NASA buffoons have said that Venus can accelerate their probe. Suppose it's true. Why have NASA buffoons accelerated two times the probe with Venus and then they have slowered down it making it to pass near the Earth?
Cool question, isn't it?
Not totally cool, because within your question there is a faulty assumption that makes the question impossible to answer.
If we split the question into two parts, then we can address them separately. First question: quote: Why have NASA buffoons accelerated two times the probe with Venus?
To gain enough speed. If you examine the picture close (including the dates of launch and the dates of fly-bys, you'll see that there are two Venus fly-bys, and after that, one Earth fly-by. After the first flyby, you can see that the probe travel well past Earth's orbit, but didn't have speed enough to reach Mars orbit, so the Sun is pulling it back for another turn around. This time is passes Venus, and then on its way out, also Earth. Both this time around picking up speed. This time it has acquired enough velosity to go past Mars and past Jupiter. But it's not a straight line but curved because the Sun's gravitational pull is slowing down the probes outward speed.
Second question:
quote: then they have slowered down it making it to pass near the Earth?
This is wrong. The probe never slows down. By the time the probe is on its way from Venus the second time, it has almost been a year since the original lanuch date and Earth has almost completed one orbit. It was planned to be there to make a gravity-assisted boost when the probe crossed Earth's orbit. |

If stupidity was an olympic sport, b6 would singlemudlleheadedly win gold, silver, and bronze. The depth of his lack of knowledge and unwillingness to learn is simply astounding.
I'm sure I'll regret asking this, but at least this is one more post towards getting this thread locked:

And what about man-made satellites? Are they real? Will you ever answer this question? I would like to know because I have a Sirius radio and I leaning toward "magic" as an explanation... |

Here are the 4 flybys and 3 of the velocity increases. I know BBBBBBBBBB; it is impossible, you don't understand, gravity doesn't work in space - what ever. I thought the more intelligent readers might be interested. quote: Venus April 26 1998 The flyby gave the Cassini spacecraft a boost in speed of about 7 kilometers per second (about 4 miles per second).
Venus June 24 1999 Not sure probably the same as April.
Earth Aug 18 1999 The flyby gave Cassini a 5.5-kilometer-per-second speed boost.
Jupiter Dec. 30 2000 boost from Jupiter's gravity that accelerated the spacecraft by about 2 kilometers per second.
This info is from the JPL site.

YOU must demonstrate the Venus - Venus - Earth flyby utility.
First of all this drawing is wrong
18 August 1999 - 30 December 2000 30 December 2000 - 1 July 2004
The same trajectory in so different times?

Come on use that big brain for something other than a hat rack. Do a little research, if you try you can figure it out. It really isn't that hard.

Otherwise I would be right: you would have been able to go to Saturn in a shortest time without wasting time turning two times round the sun
