"Somebody said, 'That's a strange tattoo that you have on the side of your head....!'"
Yeesh indeed.
Unfortunatly, there are a multitude of mostly self-appointed saviors of the world from the evils of pratically everything. Their shrieks are far more strident than the whispers of reason. And thus it has always been. I can easily imagine an ancient shaman blaming tribal immorality for the failure to whack a mammoth on the last, couple of hunts.
Thank the Great and Benevolent Rattlesnake that the shaman didn't have the Internet (Glory be to the Great Rattlesnake)!
There are so many! I have begun to have difficulty taking any of them seriously, and this is a mistake. These bible (or whatever)screamers command a huge following. A certain minority of this following bomb women's clinics and shoot doctors from ambush. What is the difference in their mindsets from the maniacs who did the WTC? It is only one of degree and a different book.
Irrational, yes. But damn' if I know what to do about it. Ya see, they too, have the same rights as ourselves. I might hate myself for it, but I would not silence them in I could.
Which should not be taken to mean that I'd not heap a little ridicule upon them, now and again.

It will always be another nut case, another nut case, another nut case, and another nut case. A whole orchid full of them grown from the seeds of ignorance.
