Here's one to put across the street from that church, BaccaBerri:

I've finally made it big. The first of my "church signs," on the previous page of this thread, has already been brazenly stolen from here and is presently displayed at the bottom of the front page of the Skeptic's Annotated Bible, from which site I found and brazenly stole the verse in the first place.
Turn about is the fairest of play.

While looking through one of the environmentalist magazines at the healthfood store (I think it was called Earthwatch) I came a across a couple of scary church signs in an article about anti-environment fundamentalists. These are people who believe that either that god gave the earth to us to use without limit or laying waste to the planet will bring the second coming sooner.
Earth First! We'll pave the other planets later.
Recycling is the Devil's Hobby
The article also included the James Watt quote that is on the American Taliban website mentioned in that thread. |

History is made by stupid people - The Arrogant Worms
"The greater the ignorance the greater the dogmatism." - William Osler
"Religion is the natural home of the psychopath" - Pat Condell
"The day will come when the mystical generation of Jesus, by the supreme being as his father in the womb of a virgin, will be classed with the fable of the generation of Minerva in the brain of Jupiter" - Thomas Jefferson |

So much for truth in advertising eh baccaberri. This is their way of getting the most bang for the buck so to speak. We all look at it as funny or irritating but they see it as marketing. I remember when they thought it sinful to "advertise the lord" in the media but know they have a change in perspective. Now they have the attitude of "if you can't beat em (over the head), join em". As I mentioned on the other site, They are on bigger than life on billboards around the D. And if that's not bad enough you can pretty much bet you'll find a flyer on your car when you're out somewhere. |

Geo b. You're the first I've seen use a different font other than size and color. A creative genius! One not afraid to be an individual. |

There are font choices on the menu bar above the post window. I just hadn't ever used them. |

My favorite church sign read "There are no atheists in Hell". There's a picture of it posted around here somewhere.
There is another I've been driving by all week that I like a lot. It says "Christ's second coming is as certain as his first."

Hi, Wendy, thanks for having photographed that "No atheists in hell" sign! It's now resting in this thread:

Please photograph that new one for us!

The formatting codes are often useful for emphasis and such, but I'd recommend not messing with the fonts themselves too heavily, as you've no guarantee that what you preview is a good representation of what others will actually see in their browser.
It's generally best to let the browser deal with the font itself, and just bold, italicise and colour (yep, I'm from Oz) to your hearts content. Browsers are fickle beasts, but most combinations of browser and screen resultion will cope with these simple things quite well, and still be readable.
Too much colour however, may get you ignored, even if it is in near-wavelength correct order. |
