To me it seems objectional from a Biblical viewpoint:
Matt 6:5:
"6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward."

Jesus is saying that this is why hypocrites pray in public, not that praying in public makes you a hypocrite or forbidden. Jesus says that if you do pray in public make it sincere and not for your own reward.

Sounds like not praying in public to me.

I hope they pass it. It will certainly piss off Yaponcha - the wind god - who will appropriately turn their land into the "State of Misery"

I would procrastinate but I never seem to get around to it.

Latest Christian position, long held but I heard it yesterday in a debate about Catholic politics, it is we who are discriminating against Christians. I assume the reference was to opposition to their desires to create a Christian State. Can't figure out what else it might have referred to.

Okay, I see two main issues here, the establishment of Christianity as the official state religion by Missouri, and the use of sectarian prayer at public expense in the legislature. The big one is the "establishment" bill, of course.

I agree with those who decry the prayer stuff, but that's relative small potatoes. Legislatures have been doing that all over the country since day one. It's wrong, but at least nobody pays much attention. I'm much more concerned with the religion they want to inject into government outside their legislative chambers. That's got to be the priority issue.

It was divinely revealed through InsultMohammed:

That's what has me dumbfounded. It's in your face wrong and they still think they'll get somewhere. What's the definition for insanity again? Doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result.
Here's my guess: Many of the Theonazis are seeing their house of shit falling into a pile of crap. Their gradual, covert methods of introducing the rule of God on earth have failed them. They intend to go out in a blaze of Godly glory. This, like the recent Mississippi anti-abortion act, is merely a way of mimicking the actions of the state of South Dakota. It's a wild gamble that the new SCOTUS will back them up. If/when this fails, they will have at least demonstrated their zeal to the Fundies.

On the debit side from these these idiots' viewpoint, they will also have demonstrated how stupid and unconstitutionally fanatical they are, in permanent, undeniable public record. I suspect their group-think is preventing them from seeing that elephant in the room.

It's desperation time for the Theonazis, folks. As long as Bush has not yet declared a national emergency, suspension of habeas corpus, martial law, and an indefinite suspension of elections, I'm celebrating! This is funnier than a barrel full of Creationists. These people are coming completely unglued.
