First John, now George. Another ragged remain of my already tattered youth is gone.
Goodbye George.

Loved you,

Nice touch of a note left today at New York.......
"There Goes the Sun".

No doubt, Harrison helped to enlighten and inspire a billion or two of us.
I've had that far-away look all day today.
Will be rehashing old lps, once again.

*Sigh*
George was my favorite too.
Got an email today from my on-line friend in England offering me condolences.
Think how the world would have been so much different had he(along with his pals)not enligthened it.

Yesterday, after learning of George's death I found myself trying to explain to a group of young construction workers the impact that the Beatles had on rock music and culture. That was no easy task.

George's contributions were not slight. He brought to the mix influences from other cultures. He helped to broaden the rock palette by showing that rock need not be limited to old formulas. The sitar on Norwegian Wood, a John song, was only a beginning. Revolver opens with a George song, "Taxman" that has a guitar break with a distinct raga style of playing. That song set the tone for the rest of an album where the old rule book on how to make a rock record was simply thrown away. Bands were now free to explore "world music" and incorporate those styles into their songs. From that point the Beatles went off in many directions. The possibilities were now endless.

George also happened to be a great song writer.

Lucky us.
