"Science cannot ever raise a valid objection to any biblical claim because science cannot furnish us with knowledge in the first place. Without Scripture there would be no possibility of man ever obtaining knowledge. We would all be like native American Indians trying to get knowledge from a waterfall. Science is no more valid at the epistemological level. Bertrand Russel said....... "All inductive arguments in the last resort redice themselves to the following form:If this is true, that is true: now that is true, therefore this is true. This argument is, of course, formally fallacious. Suppose I were to say: "If bread is a stone and stones are nourishing, then this bread will nourish me; now this bread does nourish me; therefore it is a stone and stones are nourishing........
If I were to advance such an argument, I should certainly be thought foolish, yet it would not be fundamentally different from the argument upon which all scientific laws are based." I love it when an athiest demolishes an enemy of Christianity! What a kick! There is one common thread in all secular philosophy: the humanistic notion that man in his own wisdom and strategy can obtain knowledge.....from experience or otherwise. We don't even need Scripture to refute this. The unbelieving will do it for us. Then we can capitalize on there honesty for our benefit. Empiricism is foolishness. The Greek Skeptics proved that two thousand years ago. No one has since answered them. Science cannot even prove that motion is possible, so why believe some archaeologists claim about Jericho being a myth."
Is it just me or does this make absolutely no sense. Maybe I am outclassed here, but something does not seem right.

This ideology comes from this web site. http://www.trinityfoundation.org/homemain.asp
It is an organization of intellectual christians with instruction on how to battle illogical teachings of other christian faiths. It seems if you are smart enough they will teach you the proper way to understand the bible, and all it's teachings. It seems as though they oppose Catholic teachings more than others. I will have to read more on this site. Overall, so far it sounds like a bunch of crap to me.
they seem to be pushing a certain author on their site he goes by the name of Gordon H Clark. I'll have to do a search on this guy and get his story.
These people seem to be the 'enlightened ones'

The arguments make no sense. I suppose if a charismatic, boom-voiced narrator were to speak the words, a room full of true believers would eat it up. Lisa

Seems to me to be a simple case of projectionism. He is incapable of knowing anything, so he figures that everyone else is too.

Sheesh! I post to the Landover Baptist forum, which takes Christian fundamentalism to its most ridiculous extreme in order to parody it, and this is something I would expect to read there. It's always struck me as exceptionally ironic (and hypocritical) when someone uses the fruits of science--a computer and CRT--to claim science is worthless.

During discussion with this guy, he began rambling further, making absolutely no sense, so I replied "No it's ok I took the bus today" He replied "what, I lost you there." I thaught, exactly.

Here is an excerpt of somthing written by that Clark fellow I mentioned earlier.
"The final example is that of Jesus and the thief on the cross. Jesus said, "Today thou shalt be with me in paradise." By sunset, the bodies of Jesus and the thief had been buried. They were dead. Their brains were inoperative. Yet the two persons were enjoying paradise. No doubt the thief was praising God for his unanticipated salvation. That is to say, he was thinking, but not with his decomposing brains. Thinking is not a function of brains."
Thinking is not a function of the brains. Well not his anyway.

I'd go there, but this is a public forum.

Rick, you need to run up a few threads and nominate this guy for moron of the year. Or has he already nominated himself? I'd love to know what he thinks brains are for. To keep our hair from being sucked into our skulls? Lisa

The funniest thing is, the guy I was debating with uses such complex words to convey a message of nothing. I am going to be continuing another session with him later on this evening. I'm not sure but I think, either he does a lot of copying and pasting or he types with two fingers, his responses take a lot of time. Maybe too it's all that obscure thinking. He claims to be a student of philosophy.
I keep thinking about giving him the link to this site but not sure if you guys would want this type around here. Not that there hasn't been in the past.

That's standard operating procedure with some Apologists. Use of vocabulary to portray a "self image" rather than transmit information. Works okay when speaking to a mass of people and you only want to impress them with your authority and don't care if they gain any other information from what you are saying. Some actually use vocabulary to purposely mask the information they are presenting. Why is anybodies guess. Doesn't work at all in an E-post where audience has a chance to consult their dictionaries. So he would probably shy off from an invitation to come here.

After further reading regarding Gordon H. Clark, I have found that he is dead, so probably does not qualify. I've read a bit more of his works, and decided that I will not spend anymore time on him. The last article I read, featured predestination, what a load of crap. Just in case anyone is interested here is the link. http://www.the-highway.com/omniscience_Clark.html
It was slightly amusing, but as far as I am concerned does not hold water.
Whoever believes this guy's ideology, that predestination is a fact, should just sit their asses down on the couch and never leave. Afterall that would then be their destiny, so why fight it.
