Just a little news item from CNN - might be of interest to some folks here. Scientists discover prehistoric parasite tracks in dinosaur fossil.

The remarkable part is not that the animal had paresites, that goes without saying, but that the evidence of them was found.

Thanks, Chip!

Thanks! And to think, just a few years ago, there were virtually no known fossils of soft tissue from dinosaurs. Now there's evidence enough to deduce the kinds of gut-worms that infested them! Incredible progress!

This was interesting. I remember years ago when I was just a kid visiting the Museum of Natural History in New York, among the extremely impressive giant reconstructed dinosaur skeletons there was an small exhibit of stone-like slabs that were in fact, impressions of actual dinosaur skin. I remember being in awe of the textures and patterns of the mineralized flesh of what was once a large, living, exotic animal that breathed and ran, hunted and eat.

Neat, the skin impressions. Makes one wonder about the colors.

If the reptiles of today are any indication, they were vivid. No way to know for sure, though.

Well, OK, but be careful.
