I have a co-worker that is from Cuba and is a Jehovah's Witness. She can barely read or speak any English which caused a problem when she handed me a copy of the "Awake" Watchtower newsletter, and I tried to explain to her that this was total bunk.
The thing is, I think she has been involved with the Watchtower folks for only a short time and she seemed interested and open minded when I tried to explain to her my Skeptic and Agnostic views. I just don't think she understands English well enough really understand. What I would really like is to be able to print for her and article, essay or other document that is in Spanish and that explains the main Freethought/Skepticism/etc points and maybe even explains the error in Jehovah Witness beliefs.
I used some search engines but didn't really find anything that would be adequate. Any suggestions?

Without checking them out myself, I would suggest contacting one of the groups on this site (it's an organizational links page from CSICOP and has branches in other countries, including Spanish speaking):

I will try to hunt it down, but there are a few sites that allow you to enter a URL and the site will translate the language into one you select.
The next version of this forum will have multiple language support though that only covers the menu system etc but I would love to see some of the content here presented in other languages.

Although, I would be somewhat skeptical  of a translation program: it would have a difficult time recognizing (for example) idioms, which, though we try to avoid, are still very abundant....

Translation is and has never been perfect but it does a pretty good job for the most part. Idioms can be translated to some degree but for articles I would rather see someone fluent in a language actually re-write a translation and then i could post it. That way a human translator could do a much better job.

I don't have the links at home. But if you plug skeptic into a search engine there are a couple of people out there who do a fair job of explaining religions problems and offer the pages in their native tongues, mostly they are from Brazil and one is from Argentina.
Hopefully that helps. If I'm not mistaken Brazil's language is actually Portugese.
