Dr. Shari-

If I were you, I'd sue him, his insurance compamy, charge him with everything you can, hell, make damn sure he cannot do this crap again.

I agree with Xev. If it were me, I would've let him swing first, and then we would've seen who came out on top.

Hey, Doc! Sorry to hear about this incident.

I know that people here have been charged with assault with a deadly weapon for ramming others with their cars. I don't know if it's the same where you are. Everyone seems to be advising lawsuits, going to the media, and "if I were there I woulda...". Do you want the hassle of the lawsuit/media? If so, go for it, because rest assured, this guy has friends who will continue the harassment. Perhaps you can go a different way and find out who his minister is. You can discuss the behaviour of one of his parishoners with him, and perhaps express your dismay at this ogre's behaviour towards you in the name of Gawd, and wonder aloud how good this minister actually is for conveying Jeezus CHRIST!!'s words of love in such a manner that they can be so twisted into hate and violence.

It sounds to me like a rebuke from his minister might do a whole bunch more than anything legal.

You have to remember that you had an experience with a lunatic (although I'm unsure if they're the majority or minority). I think that the use of the word "They" and it's derivitives in this thread is wrong. This is one lunatic, and his excuse was religion. If he wasn't religious, he may have done the same thing because you waited too long after the light turned green, or something.

I don't know how "I woulda" reacted in the same situation, but I think you are travelling the right path. Measured, cool, well planned response to this is the best solution.

Best of luck, and by the way, it STILL hurts when I do this....
