But before the men in the badly cut black suits show up on my door asking me all sort of questions I want to state clearly and emphatically that this is strictly a joke!

You might qualify your statement as a joke but if I were saying that I wouldn't. And I have, in so many other words have already mentioned similar posibilites.
I don't care if they show up at my door, I was taught that we have a right to say what we think. My father was born in Russia, and I know many other people from countries where they are truly afraid to say anything. I refuse to let the government intimidate me. If we do we will have the start of WWII again.

But that brings up the question of the Bush family's plan to rule the world. After all with millions of people in the United States to be in charge of this country was the only choice we had another Bush? If it was then we really are in trouble. Maybe it is something in the water?

''There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy''
I think that says it all but I can add more if you'd like! And I'm not afraid to either.

I'm not saying one way or the other what might have happened on Sept 11. We may never know. I'm only saying there are precedents of history where we know a person or a small group have clandestinely controled or manipulated events. Just in the last century which led up to what we have now, what about Joe Kennedy, Hearst, men like that who had the influencial power? And as in my previous post, didn't Shakespeare write about history, didn't many of his plays have decite and the need for power? I think all throughout history Man has in one way or another been in conspiracy with one another.

Then there are people who think we doctors all have God Complexes (and of course that is ridiculous)

Hey Doc, you are joking about it being ridiculous, that people think you guys think you are gods, right?
This is not a joke, more of the doctors I've been to (as a paticent) do have an 'I'm better then you attitude'. Maybe they don't mean to but that's how they appear.
My mother was an RN, my x-sister is an RN, my aunt is a retired RN and I know what they really think of doctors, heh he!

I try never to talk over my patients heads. I try to explain in everyday language what is wrong or not wrong with them and end the visit with a hug if it is appropriate. I make an effort to ask the nurses who care for my patients for their opinion as they do spend as much time with them as I do but I did spend 14 years of my life doing nothing but learning how to diagnose, treat and hopefully cure as many of these people as I can. Not to mention that I do have a higher income then most of my patients so they see me as just out for the money but I have worked damn hard to get to where I am and often treat people at reduced or no cost.

I don't want the people who help me treat and diagnose the patients or the patients themselves to feel anything other then my equal. Sometimes I don't quite make it. Then there are the patients who do want you to be god-like because they need to feel someone supernatural is on their side when they are ill.

Hi Doc, I hope you know it was nothing personal. I know there are doctors that are like you, I have met some also but it's not as common as having a doctor who edges their way out of the room as the paticent is trying to ask a question and doesn't explain the medication or diagnosos.

Again, my x-sister has some doctor friends and collegues who are attentive but there are as many according to her who do talk down to people.

As a Libertarian I have nothing at all against earning a living and charging for the knowledge that one gains for those years in schooling. I for one would expect it.

It is the perceptive person who can adjust their attitude towards another for each situation, many people IMO don't do that. Again, it was nothing personal Doc.
In my case because of my extra knowledge of medical terms my doctors thinks I'm a hypochondriac. For example I suggest I have a 'refered pain' and try to discuss the condition on his level, so maybe he thinks I'm trying to tell him his job or something. I do know for a fact my doctor wrote in my chart that I'm imagining my pain. LOL, or maybe it's because I act like a big baby when they want some blood work. Needles are not my thing, YUK. Sorry, don't want to bore you with too many personal testimomials, haha. But that's been my expierence.
Right now I have this cough that won't go away......got any advice(it's been chronic for a very long time)? Let me know where to send the check.
Anyway, no hard feelings, Doc. Ok? We are only having a discussion.
