Well, not that I'd want to debate him either. I just somehow don't think that the logic would penetrate Piper's cerebral cortex! Kinda like the water off a ducks back thing. He'd just start spewing more of his vile crap. He got deleted several times by BA for his use of profanity while attacking people.

I really don't give a rat's ass about Egypt, but the show's host is majorly hot.

That big fat bald englishman that wears the pith helmet and is always out of breath and has this pink face makes it look like he's having a coranary that usually does those egypts shows???

Anyway, I know quite a bit about egypt now and its an interest of mine, after debunking the loons, they were an amazing people (the egyptians not the loons). Saw a show about Cleopatra nararated by Elizabeth Taylor (who else) that was actually very good and entertaining. (although I didn't learn anything I didn't already know :P)

The history channel managed this show very well. Lots of "here's what we found, here's how we found it, and this is what we think it means". No real mention of the pyramids or any surrounding bunkum. It seems other shows on Egypt always end up talking about the "mysterious power of the pyramids". *yawn*
A show like this could easily be dull, but I liked the way the director "put us there" with the discoveries.
And he's NOT fat, so what if he's bald, I'd still do him in a minute, okay?

Must be a differnt guy, this guy is HUGE, you'd think he'd loose weight climbing up and down pyramids all day long.

It seems other shows on Egypt always end up talking about the "mysterious power of the pyramids".

I haven't seen any of those types of shows for a long time, but I'm very careful of what channels I watch documentaries on, some have nothing but drivel (umm FOX comes to mind). History channel is usually good. PBS is ALWAYS good. TLC is usually crap, but sometimes they have something good. Travel channel sometimes has malarky, but they also have "Egypt on 10 dollars a day" type shows that are very amusing to watch... I once saw one with this gal in Kenya or some dang place, she was WAY off the beaten path and it was funny watching her try to find rice and other supplies in this village where hardly no one knew english. (I still have the image of her trying to pantomine "rice" out to this one poor guy, lol)

BTW there's a new National Geographic Channel out. Of course my cable company doesn't carry it... :(

PS- I'm fat, but I still got all my hair, well most of it anyway :P

It's called "Egypt Beyond the Pyramids". Host is Peter Woodward. Dude who played Galen in Crusade. Pardon my drool, okay?
Piper is back? Okay kids, sit down. Let's see what happens when he's ignored.

It's on again later today, I'll try to watch it.

ummm, I already debunked piper's image. I know I said I wasn't gonna, but it was just so silly.

That's all i'm going to do though. I'm not going to respond to him, just buckle down and get ready for the childish rantings.

@tomic,
We're up to 17 pages. I don't know how the rest of regulars feel, but let's start a new folder, or do a wipe, and start over. I'd rather see a new "subject". Comments, anyone?

Was just thinking that we should ask @tomic to give us our own private folder.

I egged Piper apparently into posting the photo, though it is directly from a nasa site, I checked the URL on the image.

I could add an entire forum.....something like "General Discussion" where being on topic is not an issue. It's something a lot of these forums have.

Oh and I saw that Egypt show. I keep wondering how long the History Channel has left before it goes the way of Discovery or TLC. Maybe it won't get that bad and I sure hope not. Does anyone remember when TLC was a lot like the History Channel?

May should be prepared to ask for several more folders, dependent on if the Pipehead is going to post and attack, post and attack, post and attack!

What was that little bird telling us?...of not responding to the likes of Piper, and calling you, Lisa and Trish, out with your boxing gloves on? And then he re's to Piper's photo with a public humiliation, ego rub of his own! Even Nick can't hold back on the temptation! Well, I know you guys saw Nick's post. Guess, just ignoring him.

Wonder if the BA should just open a board for the lunatic fringe hoaxters?,...Piper can be the moderator.

Trish, again you have made some well-worded posts to Piper's latest photo post. In a stand-back view, I think you have a good point, - it being a public bulletin board, of the need to respond _ in a reasonable, thoughtful way_ to some of the claims like Piper makes. Kids and wanna-be's can see rational and logical questions asked to Piper and the likes, of that it takes more than words for evidence.
What doesn't look good are the emotional attacks towards him, which I'm paritally guilty of in that reguard in the past.
I think of Piper's posts like someone previously said that they're a road accident,...you hate to look, but you do.

Something in some of us do want to pull over, get out and help at accident scenes. Some want to just watch, some want to get home.

Nick's post surprised me, lol.

Actually debunking Piper's stuff is fun. But I agree no more stooping to his level. Although I'll get my digs in when I debunk his hooey. :)

I remember a mini series about the Mongols on TLC about 5 or so years ago that was awesome. Too bad they went the way they did. I really don't think The History Channel is going to go that way. At least I hope not. They've been around a while. Also having guys like Roger Mudd around helps.

Rift, are you psychic? Or is just that great minds think alike? I have just read your latest post over on BABB and if Piper either doesn't respond or actually has something nice to say(yeah right. *rolls eyes*), I will be a little surprised.

CM:Flattery will get you everywhere! Thanks *blush* again. Non-reasoned arguments are as Rift says, stooping to his level.

Rift:Yeah, debunking Piper's stuff is fun, just too bad I wasn't sure that was the rover. (But is was rather late/early? take your pick I was still awake. )

If he responds I will NOT in anyway respond with anything other than the same tone I have taken so far in discussing this with him. Like I said, I do have better things to worry about than what he thinks of me, gee, guess that means I don't really care about his personal opinion, hmm....

Rift, what can I say?, (genuflecting) - but stunning!

those that make things happen, those that watch things happen, and
those that wonder what happened.
