That's a good point. It would be far more accurate if the politicians were part of the tree's root system rather than a branch.

No, more like rotten fruit that fell off the tree, was eaten, and then excreted.

How about the people who vote for them? They are the moron germs who keep them in office.

What about those countries where everyone over 18 has to vote?

Those are so much better then ones where voting in only optional.

Oh well, its always amazing what some people will believe, like that democracy doesn't work.

I don't know if they are all so bad. The way things are going now, within 4 years Clinton is going to look like a saint.

Bill was/is cool. I liked him. His personality at least. I'm not a democrat.
The only logical choice is Harry Browne.

Harry Browne had a lot of issues I agreed with. (Especially the one about 4th amendment abridgement.) I just couldn't see him as a viable candidate. He was a little too conservative to be elected.

Aaggh. Finally, some kindred spirits. I was beginning to feel like a lone Republican awash in a sea of Democrats... My only hope is to try the recipes in the Spirits thread.

My kids still love me.

You are not alone, Garrette...I'm another political conservative here...but we *are* outnumbered.

So what's your choice? Scotch?

Any German dark beer, most Irish lagers, and the occasional rum and coke, but I prefer the dark rum and little coke. (I never claimed to be a connoisseur).

Got the drunkest I've ever been when I brought back two bottles of my ex-grandfather-in-law's family brandy from Germany. He put one bottle on the mantel as expected and opened the other as expected. The unexpected part was that he insisted we go beyond one snifter of the stuff and finish the whole blasted thing between the two of us. It was a BIIIIG bottle. And it was tougher than I was.

My kids still love me.

I'll tell you a little secret, I don't agree 100% with everything my party presents. I think for myself but if there has to be someone to 'run' the country, between the two morons who were the major candidates, what choice was there really.
What points did you think were too conservative?
