This is a good site and if you read carefully you will discover that there is no reliable evidence of wild cougars east of the Mississippi (except for Florida). This is a foundation that would LOVE to have an eastern cougar population (as would I) so I feel there findings are particularly believable.
If I knew then what I know now then I would know more now than I know.
