Typical avoidance tactic that I have come to expect from you. Your Obama/Lincoln question is nonsensical (surprise, surprise).
Answer the question: Yes or No?
Your claim that voters were voting AGAINST Obama is b***sh*t. Don't forget that Mass already has Universal health care. Brought in by Mitt Romney and voted FOR by Scott Brown.
As per usual Bill, you've brought nothing to the table except empty bumper-sticker dogma. |

We will see come November. So far is Barack is 0-3. He campaigns in Virgina and they elect a repub. Governor. He campaigns in New Jersey and they elect a repub. Governor. He campaigns in Massachusetts and they elect a repub to fill Teddy's seat. Do you see a trend here?

Hitler's Nazi Party got voted into power. Segregationists got voted into power. Certainly doesn't mean that either was on the "right" side of history.
So far Bill, your 0-2. Come on, I'm not even trying.
BTW, inquiring minds want to know: when are you ever going to answer Dave W's question regarding gay marriage? My guess is never. |

I will give you one thing: that Scott Brown and his nude centerfold is precisely the kind of candidate that the Repubs want nowadays, given their (Repubs) scandalous problems with marital fidelity and closeted homosexuality.
That's family values isn't it? But hey, he drives a TRUCK!!!
Was there any mention of his five rental properties including a time-share in Aruba?
You conservatives crack me up. You vote for a guy simply because he's good-looking, drives a truck, and spouts the party-line talking points. |

Bill scott.....
In my humble opinion this was 20% a vote for Scott Brown and an 80% vote against the federal government. Looking at the polls and interviews the people are sick and tired of business as usual in Washington. | Congratulations, Bill, you have found yourself another succubus sponsor besides Dave W.......Me!
I totally agree with your statement I quoted above.
I am a way left liberal Democrat, and the politician that I am most pissed off at in the world is Barack Obama. He has blown it more completely than the whole damn crew at the Mustang ranch could have done in a solid week of cockservice.
This idiotic dreamer had it all - prez office, filibuster proof Senate, huge majority in the House, and an adoring public - and now the Limbaugh Legions are running roughshod over him - in the polls, in the Senate, in Pelosi's palace, and in the court of public opinion.
He's starting to look like a dumber asshole than Junior Bush was, and that puts him in the same intelligence range as your average tapeworm!
You Creative Conservatives certainly play the political game a hell of a lot better than we dumbass Democrats do!! Where can I enroll in Fundamentalist Fools and Conservative Cretins College? I need a successful political perspective! |

Dude, they could have run Micky Mouse and won the race. This was not a vote for Brown as much as it was against Obama. Note to incumb. dems. don't bring the prez in to campaign for you or doomed, if your not doomed already. If you doubt me then wait till November. The writing is on the wall. |

So what? I simply said this was a vote against Obama. Nothing about Scott Brown being on the right side of history or the Nazi Party. Those were your ramblings. |

I hate to interrupt this fascinating, intellectual discussion, but I've just been handed a memo....
Well, it wasn't really for me -- it never is -- but here it is anyway: A memo on what happened in Mass., and how Dems should proceed by John Aravosis (DC) on 1/22/2010 02:15:00 PM An interesting read. This memo was just distributed to all Senate chiefs of staff:

Let up hope that the chiefs of staff take heed and finally get their trained monkeys to do the right thing.

Really? So a 52% for Brown vs 48% for Coakley means that anyone with an R behind their name would have won? Interesting. Well, I've never known you to let facts get in the way of an argument before, so why change now.
I will say this: Mickey Mouse would have been a more substantive candidate than Brown. I'll admit that the Dems dropped the ball on this, big time. Coakley ran a pathetic campaign.
This was not a vote for Brown as much as it was against Obama. Note to incumb. dems. don't bring the prez in to campaign for you or doomed, if your not doomed already. |
Again, don't let facts get in the way, Bill. After Obama campaigned on her behalf, Coakley's numbers went UP. Not enough, obviously, but they went up. And Obama's still has very favorable poll numbers in Mass.
If you doubt me then wait till November. The writing is on the wall.
|
Maybe, maybe not. We'll see...
By the way, I see that you've still ignored the Kennedy v Brown question...
And Dave is still waiting for an answer to his question regarding gay marriage. Could it be that your claims have no basis in reality? |

What it is, everyone, including myself, is so pissed at the Democrats and the castrated HC bill that the Coakley loss should come as no real surprise. But as pissed at the Dems as they might be, polls find that they still loath Repubs, and said Repubs have no one to blame but themselves and the tiresome teabaggers.
But no worries; five douchebags on the Supreme Court have fixed it for them. The U.S. Supreme Court, in a 5-4 decision Thursday, ruled that limits on the amount of money corporations, labor unions and other groups can directly spend on political campaigns is a violation of the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. In a stunning reversal of the nation’s federal campaign finance laws, the court’s overturning of a 20-year-old ruling is seen as a stunning decision which is likely to challenge similar limits imposed by 24 states: |
This will turn every politician extant into a cheap whore, a status all too many many of them are already intimately familiar with.
