When you buy a prescription drug, nowhere on the bottle do you find any guarantee that it will work for you, only ingredients and instructions, and other than aspirin, the effect you expect may or may not occur. The reason pseudodoctors get away with it is the buyers have their own self doubts, didn't do it right, had the wrong attitude, etc.>> cantbe323

As Dave pointed out, there is a difference between blind faith and conditional trust in a trained, licensed professional. I wouldn't ask a plumber to treat a disease any more than I would ask a doctor to fix my plumbing. >>

Sounds like words from a conventional wisdom person, definitely not a skeptic.

More bait.

Who's gonna bite?

Uncertainty may make you uncomfortable. Certainty makes you ridiculous.

Why not question something for a change?

"ARTH is rocking in space!
And the thunders crash up with a roar upon roar,
And the eddying lightnings flash fire in my face,
And the whirlwinds are whirling the dust round and round--
And the blasts of the winds universal leap free
And blow each other upon each, with a passion of sound,
And ęther goes mingling in storm with the sea!
Such a curse on my head, in a manifest dread,
From the hand of your Zeus has been hurtled along!
O my mother's fair glory! O Ęther, enringing
All eyes with the sweet common light of thy bringing,
Dost see how I suffer this wrong? "

You have yet to see any evidence that the "conventional wisdom" is incorrect. The meaning of skeptic is not "someone who decides his standpoints without evidence".

It's evidence if I say it's evidence.

Wow, "skepticism" is so much easier this way. No need for logic or evidence, just my say-so is enough for anything!

I'd say this is an admission by cantbe that he is a troll. If I may make a suggestion, I'd say it's time to wield the banhammer?

Then don't call yourself a skeptic. You've become incredibly boring...

"What the hell is an Aluminum Falcon?"

"Oh, I'm sorry. I thought my Dark Lord of the Sith could protect a small thermal exhaust port that's only 2-meters wide! That thing wasn't even fully paid off yet! You have any idea what this is going to do to my credit?!?!"

"What? Oh, oh, 'just rebuild it'? Oh, real [bleep]ing original. And who's gonna give me a loan, jackhole? You? You got an ATM on that torso LiteBrite?"

It'll do until something better comes along... Like maybe a real skeptic debate.
