I'm beyond caring what Rudolfo thinks, because he's clearly made up his mind to be nothing but prejudicially insulting. And I know the vast majority of our regular members can appreciate a good childish insult (please don't call them ad hominems unless you're talking about the logical fallacy).
My only concern would be for how the last couple of pages of this thread might look to someone who was truly interested in dealing with Holocaust deniers but stumbled in on any of the last few pages of this thread direct from Google. Our software doesn't force anyone to begin at page one, and certainly we can't force anyone to read the other five threads to see Rudoldo's poor behavior ramping up over time so that the newcomers understand just how well deserved the vitriol is. (This is one reason I restrained myself from making another joke about Rudolfo's diary: that it was odd that he would actually write down "fap fap fap.")
But then again, perhaps people who would allow their first impression of our site to be their only impression aren't the sort of critical thinkers we'd like to attract. There are plenty of other sites at which they can learn that "prima facie" doesn't mean "true," and then perhaps they'll come back. Heck, there are plenty of other pages here at which they can learn such skills, it might take a pretty odd set of keywords to just hit on these pages first.
Of course, I'd be perfectly happy to derail this whole thread with a discussion of the "tone" our members think our site should generally present to the world. It would be far more interesting than anything our current anti-Semite has to offer. |

If memory serves, and too often it doesn't these days, there is a cutoff at 16 pages, then the thread is locked and a new one started. Or are we not doing that any more?
I would be happy to kick off a new one. The title OP would be -- never mind. Rudolfo's ignoring me like a rat hoping that the snake will go away, and if the OP were mine, he might not come out and play. But never let it be said that I didn't make some small contribution even now:

It's done at staff discretion. The main concern with longer threads is that they tend to load more slowly as they get larger. With this thread, such annoyances may help it die faster. |

The following is fiction, and any connection with real events and/or persons is purely coincidental ..
REPORT ON THE EVALUATION OF THE PSYCHIATRIC FACILITY AT BELLVUE, NY, SEVENTH FLOOR
by Dr. B. Rude
Back history - this report is issued pursuant to direction from the NY State Mental Health Board. Numerous complaints have been filed against the facility, and a previous report, undertaken by Dr. Dan was not completed in a timely manner, that report has been abandoned, and this will substitute for it.
Overview:
The director of the facility is the Dowager Dame Killjoy, and the chief psychiatrist is Dr. D. Whackamole.
Dr. Whackamole has received some measure of acclaim for his earllier successful treatment of two of the centers most difficult cases, patients Frizz and Farty, both suffering from severe infantile development arrest. Dr. Whackamole was able to effect successful toilet training for both patients at ages 19 and 23 respectively. Unfortunately he was unable to build on these early successes and now both patients are maintained on heavy doses of librium and haldol, in order to keep them from breaking furniture and trashing the facility.
Another difficult case is that of TomTom, who suffers from a bad case of compulsive disorder. Patient Tom, as he is called, only communicates by asking questions, and for the last 15 years has been demanding an answer to a single question which has been forgotten. He frequently becomes hostile when a satisfactory is not forthcoming. Dr. Whackamole has tried to get patient Tom to move on with his life, or to at least come up with a new question, but to no avail.
This brings us to one of the real problems of the center, Whackamole's degrees are bogus. In reality he was expelled in the 7th grade when he was unable to master the rules of grammar. To his credit, he is still trying, heroically I might add, to master the concepts, but progress has been slow. His degrees from high school on are from a storefront diploma mill in Brooklyn, and poor Whackamole, not having the funds even to pay for these inexpensive degrees, was forced to endure degradations I can't describe in his report in order to obtain these bogus degrees.
And perhaps the oddest case is that of Dowager Dame Killjoy. She inherited the directorship from her father, but has no interest in the day to day operation of the center. She spends most of her time in her office sipping from a flask of brandy. Occasionally she is seen wandering about the hallways, muttering something that no one has been able to decipher.
Summary - There is a remarkable unity of mind at the facility, shared by administration, staff, and patients. Even the occasional slip in the toilet training of Frizz and Farty are greeted with bonhomie. So, there is no need to close the facility.
However, there is concern that none of the people in the center will ever be able to function in the outside world. Therefore continued close monitoring is the recommended plan of action.
There is a rumor that the center has recently opened an internet account. This could provide a useful window into the center's activities.
