Dave.....
Crank the paranoia up a few more notches. Good job. | I'm not biting, Dave. I seriously would like to assist Kil, whom I seriously admire and appreciate, in attempting to lower the temperature around here. It's really getting silly! |

Bngbuck, considering all the mud you've slung in thread alone, it's stupefying to learn you think you deserve any more courtesy than you're already getting. But thanks for illustrating why engaging you is a waste of time.

The mods may not wish this thread to last that long, several folks have expressed their annoyance already. The inner cadre kind of directs the pack to a degree, and the thresd may be terminated. |
How absurd. Annoyed at what? Someone who says he has experiences that, if true, would invalidate their belief system? I always put what is real above a comfortable lie, but I guess not everybody is really interested in the truth.
If you plan on censoring me for any reason, please do so now, so I don't waste another keystroke. That will allow you all to get back to the important business of bad-mouthing our beloved U.S. Astronauts, as you were doing when I came in.
Where are these discussions about removing me taking place? In smoke-filled rooms? Why isn't the discussion taking place out here in the open forum?

Could this thread get any weirder than it is? I have an idea. (Not that it will be taken.) How about starting a thread and hashing out differences of style and other things over there and let this thread be about le Penseur, and our take on his stories. I haven't counted them, but I bet half the posts are not pertinent to this topic, which I find interesting.
Or maybe I'll just go join filthy...

| No one is planning to censure you or cut this thread short, le Penseur. No one at all. The fact is, we moderate with a very lite touch. Sigh...

Dave writes, regarding the aliens sharing the technology of their ships:
So I take it that either nobody has asked the aliens if they'd share, or that the answer was "no." |
The way I understand it, the answer was "no". Allegedly, when the greys entered into this agreement with Eisenhower, The greys offered to share certain areas of their technology. The US military asked for two areas of knowledge; their methods of propulsion/travel, and their weapons technology.
The greys said no, they were unwilling to share those technologies, instead offering knowledge in the areas of electro-magnetism and genetics.
I wasn't there, however, so I can't be certain, of course. It was well before I was born. |

Could this thread get any weirder than it is? | Oh yeah. Jerome might show up! Actually, there is some pretty strange chemistry happening, I have to admit! Le Penseur.....
How absurd. Annoyed at what? Someone who says he has experiences that, if true, would invalidate their belief system? I always put what is real above a comfortable lie, but I guess not everybody is really interested in the truth. | No, that's not exactly it. The way I understand it, when the subject matter gets to a certain degree of outré, in the view of many; there begins to be suspicion of "trolling". (I assume you understand the concept of an Internet Troll. I did not, when I first joined here several years ago.) Eventually, after an extended bunch of posting by a rather strange new member named Jerome, it was determined that Jerome was a Troll and he was banned. WE maintained e-mail contact long after his dispatch from SFN, and I still hear from him from time to time.
I rather liked him, and I was criticized by some for that, but definitely not banned. If you go back and read through this entire thread, you will see that there have been a few grumblings about the subject matter and the word "Troll" has been used a few times, with different referents.
To compound things, there is a rather tense emotional undertone existing between myself and several folks here at SFN, which is easy to see, if you only read this thread and the one titled Moonwalker claims alien contact... | Hence, Kil's "weird" comment.
Obviously Dave and myself have some issues. Ditto for Humbert Humbert. Both situations have deep roots, but are not related.
Dude is a totally different situation altogether. I will leave you to draw your own conclusions from your interactions with him. I probably have messed around enough, already.
When I spoke of "banning", I obviously overreached. I have been asked to apologize to Dave for "smearing" him. If that is an honest description of what a large number of readers and members read into some of my posting, then I do indeed apologize to Dave for "smearing" him.. Perhaps that will dispel some of the current tension.
I would also like to apologize to Kil and the rest of the administrative crew for my overreaching comments regarding "banning.". After.Kil's commentary, there does not seem to be much danger of that. You overreacted to that, but it is not your fault, it is mine. Kil has made it clear that there will be no banning. You can believe him.
So relax, Le Penseur! SFN is a complicated little world. I truly hope that you stick around for a while as I, personally, find your commentary compelling. The rest of the folks will make up their minds individually, at least I would hope so.
I would appreciate the best response that you can give to the Alien questions I have asked. Thank you. |

You could take yourself over to the moonwalker thread and answer my question. I really would like to read an answer from you, preferably one that actually answers the question and isn't filled with your usual verbal bloat. Be concise.

Humbert.....
Now you're accusing me of "aggressive hostility" for asking what you found problematic in Dave's reply? Or was it for daring to suggest you owe some people here an apology? Bngbuck, considering all the mud you've slung in thread alone, it's stupefying to learn you think you deserve any more courtesy than you're already getting. But thanks for illustrating why engaging you is a waste of time. | Hummer, to use a address of affection from long ago, is it possible for you to take a deep breath and just calm down a bit? I see "aggressive hostility" in the wording of your post addressed to me. I am certain that you perceive the same in my replies to you. You certainly cannot justify my starting a fight with you in this thread, so may I ask why you choose to start a fight with me?
I'm no fun to fight with, neither are you. But currently, because I truly do understand Kil's plea for peace, I respect the guy and I would like to assist in his attempt to calm things down. As you know, I am perfectly competent participating in "flame wars", as are you and several others here. There are other, wiser, members that abstain, and I commend them for it. It really is a pretty...er, primitive way to behave in a forum that should be and really is dedicated to civil discourse.
If you would like an apology for offending one or another of your tender sensibilities, I apologize. But I don't really enjoy the Flame Games any more, I'm approaching 83, and a guy has to grow up some time before he dies.
Please relax a bit, Hummer! Even at your tender age, life is too short for extended periods of adrenaline excess! |

Dr. Mabuse.....
...a reaction initiated and fed by you. | Dr. Mabuse, may I please ask for a brief pause in the hostilities. I have attempted, in the current thread, not to personally offend you. If I have failed, I apologize. But , as I told Humbert, I am weary of the warfare. One begins to get a bit lethargic at my age, and some antagonistic stimulation is probably useful. But right now, I am having plenty in my private life with the damndest difficult investment market I have ever encountered. So I guess my already somewhat meager energy store is depleted for the present.
I am going to pull out soon, leaving bad memories with many of you old-timers. For the moment, I would like to assist Kil to the best of my ability. He obviously wants some peace and quiet. I'm not so damned happy with the clamor, either. I have no combative response to your comment. I hope we can leave it at that -- at least for now! |
