What the hell are you people arguing about? No wonder none of you have a clue about aliens, or 9/11, or Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead being British Secret Service agents with a double "0" rank and a license to kill.
Looking back over these posts is like reading the minutes at a debate of a Tourettes's Syndrome support group. |

| Huh? Are you serious, or must I call Poe's Law.
"Tourettes's Syndrome support group," I like that. But not to worry; nobody is reading these long, tedious posts in their entirity -- at least I'm not that masochistic. Others might be.
Now discussing Jerry Garcia; where would he find the time for sanctioned murder? And what clue am I missing about 9/11?

lol Filthy, the bit about Jerry Garcia comes directly from the relatively awful movie "Conspiracy Theory", starring Julia Roberts and Mel Gibson. Actually I have a long history with the Grateful Dead, the band beyond description, Jehova's favorite choir.
As for 9/11, well, come on. This is the wrong thread for that, but seriously, if someone hasn't figured it out by now, then they probably never will. I think the topic is a terrific litmus test for determining someone's intelligence, or even more important, their wisdom. |

| We've covered 9/11 at considerable length on these boards. "Conspiricy theories," and all like that. I never saw the flick you mentioned.
As for drifting off topic, well, I've never paid a lot of attention to topics. I'm more interested in content, whatever it might be. I'm bored out of my gourd with this one, for obvious reasons.

Moakley. Four and sometimes FIVE PEOPLE sharing the experience of the same events, seen from four different viewpoints. Your vivid dreams scenario just fell to the ground.
| I don't believe scenario is the best word to be used here. Explanation is better to which I would add plausible. The second story clearly had everyone asleep, while the first being asleep can not be dismissed. Being one who falls asleep with the TV on I can attest to incorporating what is currently on into a vivid dream.
As far as group abduction is concerned: Who began relating their version of the event first? Were they able to complete their tale prior to confirmation or embellishments from others?

Now add to that multiple witnesses. Friends and neighbors who, on different occasions were witness to these ships hovering over our house at the time of the events. So much for your 'vivid dreams' excuse.
| A lot of witnesses, but as others have already asked, what evidence exists? |

Ever hear of the "Me-Too syndrome?" That is where someone else wants a piece of the action whether he/she was involved or not. Often we read about people claiming to be military veterans who were never even in the service. The same will hold true in any case where attention is desired. Heh, I didn't make Woodstock, alas, but I know a lot of people who did. And many who claim to have.
Just thought I'd toss that out....

Perhaps that will dispel some of the current tension. |
If you don't understand that what you did was wrong, then any apologize from you is meaningless. You really need to mean what you say, and I think you're either uncapable of realising it, or you're too much of a prick to do it. I haven't decided yet which of these options to believe. |

Kil.....
Kil, please put the popcorn down and give me a little advice here. I am truly serious in my comments about attempting to lower the emotional tone here. Is that not what you meant by "move on?" I mean, I admit that I have seen SFN as primarily "your" baby, and you have gone to great lengths to explain to me that that is not accurate.
OK, but you truly are one of the more sensible folks in this strange bunker of bedfellows as far as I am concerned. And we have a reasonable history of intelligent communication, both on and off the record. If you have things to say that you would rather not be public, my e-mail is bngbuck@roadrunner.com. If you would like to express anything that might bridge these troubled waters, please do so soon.
In any event, I am beginning to feel like an armed FBI agent alone at Ruby Ridge. After Dave, Mabuse, Humbert, Moakley, I get the impression that I'm not a prom queen around here. Why don't you run a poll on whether or not I should simply shut the fuck up and go away? We have a nano democracy here, why not utilize one of it's perogatives, rule of the majority?
Please understand. I am not whining to mommy here, I genuinely agree with your oft-repeated pleas for civility and if folks like Mabuse and Humbert really want to continue to call me names like shit-stirrer, troll, and prick, for god's sake, I really am capable of extremely juvenile retaliation in kind. What would your personal response be to being called a prick here on SFN, administrative powers aside? I know, it never has happened and likely won't. But I respect your cool, so advise, based on personal convictions.
I ask you publicly as an acknowledged friend. Please respond to me either here on the forum, or privately at bngbuck@roadrunner.com. My SFN mailbox is pretty full and I like HTML a lot better than Snitz. |

moakley:
The second story clearly had everyone asleep |
No, Moakley, the second encounter has us asleep many hours later, AFTER the stressful and exhaustive abduction. That's the same as me saying to you, Moakley, that nothing you thought you did yesterday really happened, because you went to sleep afterwards. Lol You only dreamed it! It's a desperate-sounding excuse.
In fact, the majority of abductions take place while the person is wide awake and engaged in activities, often in broad daylight, often with other people. People are abducted while driving a car. People are abducted at their place of work in front of co-workers, people are abducted while boating, or hunting, or hiking, taken in front of other people. |

...and in the very next post by you: Dude.....
Doodleleedoodah..... |
Bill, how hollow your words ring. I don't believe for a second that you're sincere. Not anymore.
Right now, I am trying to play firefighter, and it is a rather new experience for me. The learning curve is slowly approaching asymptote. | You've been putting out any perceived fires with gasoline. Sure, there were a few sparks in the beginning of the thread, but they would most probably died out by themselves if you hadn't fanned the flames and provided gas while pretending to be le Penseur friend. If you had simply shut the fuck up, the thread would have been perhaps half the pages it is by now, and everyone would have been saved a lot of aggravation including le Penseur who is an innocent bystander to your personal vendetta against Dave. W, H. Humbert, and Dude.
You've been doing le Penseur a disfavour with your attempt at running interference on his behalf. Like a bad sports commentator, you've been trying to explain to le Penseur what we are trying to do even though everything we write is right here for him to see. You must believe le Penseur is daft beyond measure because the level of your commenting makes me believe you think he's a pre-teen, or a retarded person who has to have everything explained to him. Not to mention your inability to do it objectively, you simply couldn't help yourself injecting your personal aversion of my friends mentioned above, "poisoning the well" as the logical fallacy goes. You've misrepresented Dave and his view on knowledge, even though we all know, both you and us other SFN-regulars know, that you have been told Dave's position. But le Penseur didn't know, so you've poisoned his mind with lies about Dave. You've take every opportunity to bait, then act victim in order to get le Penseur's sympathy. This all is so fucking dishonest. I'm actually surprised that le Penseur hasn't caught on to your game yet, because I think he should be offended by it.
Dr. Mabuse.....
...a reaction initiated and fed by you. | Dr. Mabuse, may I please ask for a brief pause in the hostilities. | Your dis-ingeniousness is what is fuelling any hostilities. Until this very post, I haven't acted hostile, I have merely commented on what I perceive to be facts and expressed exasperation at your attempt to transform this thread into a train-wreck.
If I have failed, I apologize. But , as I told Humbert, I am weary of the warfare. | Since I don't perceive your apology to be sincere, I can't accept it in good faith. I was weary by the end of the fourth page, because I foresaw the inevitable contamination of this thread. This was le Penseur's thread, but you seem to consider this your personal mud-pit. You've had many opportunities to back off in here, and continued the discussion in the other thread, but you just couldn't help yourself, could you?

Le Penseur
What the hell are you people arguing about? | LP, unfortunately, you have not been here long enough to have sufficient background of SFN to completely understand the current kerfuffle.
Basically, it is the subject matter of this thread. As I told you earlier, I came into SFN with what I felt was a sensible question for a group of skeptics - What are your opinions on the possble causes of the multitudes of UFO (now UAP) sightings that have not been explained after intensive investigation? | Well, the response from the then members of SFN was astonishing to me. There was an immediate assumption on the part of many -even most- of the members, that I was an advocate and apologist for the existnce of extraterrestrials visiting the Earth.
This was totally not true, and for a few days I experienced a very intense interrogation concerning my alleged belief in little green or tall grey men. There was considerable profanity, cursing and name calling directed to me concerning my "belief" in ET's!
THIS WAS NOT WHAT I WAS ASKING ABOUT! I was solely concerned with what a bright (sorry about that) bunch of skeptics thought about UAP that had been carefully investigated and for which no satisfactory explanation had been found. The overwhelming, to me, mantra that was endlessly repeated at that time was the absolute necessity for tangible evidence of alien creatures, in order for my questions and commentary to be credible.
I have never personally had experience with ET's. I have had UAP viewing experience, and it was a powerful, almost emotional, event for me. But I certainly did not witness ET beings piloting a vehicle across the sky. All I saw was a relatively few seconds of an unbelievably bright green light as it passed across a cloudless night sky completely from a western horizon to an eastern horizon, brilliantly illuminating the landscape on a moonless night. WTF? I still don't know!
My view as to the existence of extraterrestrial life currently is totally agnostic. I have no prejudice either way. And I am wide open and extremely eager to hear of any sensible reports of experience with such life-forms such as I see your experiences to be.
This attitude is not well received here, never was and never will be. Hence the undercurrent of criticism and hostility that you may detect in some of the current commentary directed to me and to yourself.
Enough for this long post, Filthy nodded off minutes ago, but I hope it has given you some understanding of all the adrenaline flowing elsewhere around here.
If you could find a moment to give me some answers to the "Alien" questions I have asked you, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you for your attention, Le Penseur. |

Ever hear of the "Me-Too syndrome?" That is where someone else wants a piece of the action whether he/she was involved or not. | Yes. I have been interested by that phenomenon for a very long time. It has important commercial applications.
But I am confused a bit by your comment, Filth. Who is the "me" as the syndrome applies to the current boring thread situation? |
