No, what I have provided is an plausible explanation for an otherwise improbable event. Excuses are what one makes in the abscence of evidence to justify the improbable.

If that's what you really think, you have completely deluded yourself.

It's not the subject of your agnosticism that's the problem, it's the illogical and inconsistent methods you use to reach it, and then your self-righteously smug attitude about it (for example, the repeated implications that non-agnosticism is unreasonable or close-minded or somehow the result of prejudice). Of course, because your agnosticism is so transparently irrational, your smugness about it is obviously misplaced.

And for me, that's just icing on the cake of how much of a jerk you've been to me personally over the last 14 months or so.

Also, the ideas that the ET visitation hypothesis holds some special position of disregard among SFN members or that those of us who are criticizing you are doing so on the basis of your three-year-old thread on UFOs are both ludicrous, even combined. They are just further examples of your lack of awareness.

Le Penseur.....

Not sure what you're asking me here, I really haven't been paying attention to whatever you guys are arguing about
I can understand that, frankly much of it isn't worth reading. Essentially, Mabuse wrote a highly abusive post addressed to me, clearly stating that I was "brainwashing" you.
Dr. Mabuse
But le Penseur didn't know, so you've poisoned his mind with lies about Dave. You've take every opportunity to bait, then act victim in order to get le Penseur's sympathy. This all is so fucking dishonest.
I'm actually surprised that le Penseur hasn't caught on to your game yet, because I think he should be offended by it.
I guess my question is, do you feel I am "poisoning your mind"? I hardly think that such a thing is possible, but because Mabuse is an otherwise pretty sensible guy and I really don't know what his current problem is!

Far more important, a little way back I asked you this.....
Le Penseur.....

Looks like the hoot and holler phase is over. Maybe we can do something sensible now.

1. Where do these aliens come from? Could you identify anything specific about their place of origin?

2. Are the aliens with whom you had direct experience, or others, responsible for some, or many of the several million "UFO" reports over the last hundred and fifty years?

3. What is their purpose in extensively traveling through our atmosphere?

4. What is their purpose in abducting folks like you and your family?

5. Is the abduction random selection or selective targeting?

I hope you can respond to these few questions. I have many (40-50) more.

No Moakley, you aren't providing anything more than a weak excuse that falls flat on its face.

That is, unless you agree that whatever you, moakley, remember about yesterday is more likely to have just been your dreams last night, rather than taking place 'just prior' to your going to sleep.

You do admit to going to sleep last night? Well, there you go. According to YOUR logic, nothing you remember about yesterday is real, simply because at some point you went to sleep!

Do you see how laughable this is? Apparently not, as you've made me repeat it three times now. I don't mind answering dumb questions once, but three times? Come on.

I also pointed out that your theory falls apart instantly because we have four or five people who experienced the same event. That alone rules out your dream theory.

Well, to be fair, we don't have access to five separate accounts of the events described. We just have one: yours. It wouldn't matter if you said 500 people were witnesses so long as we only had your say-so to go by. This is one problem with giving credence to accounts of miracles in the bible involving large crowds, for example.

Now this should not be taken as an accusation of dishonesty of any kind. You may well be able to produce confirming accounts. I'm just pointing out that we are forced to completely take you at your word at this point, and as a skeptic, there isn't a whole lot I'm going to be able to do with that except shrug and say you have an interesting story. I believe other members may have been trying to express similar sentiments in their own ways.

But since you have already acknowledged that your testimonial here isn't likely or intended to win converts, I would still be interested in the contents your alleged experiences. More questions might come to mind once your tale matures.

Dave, you know as well as I do what the origin of the animosity between you and I stems from, and it was originated by you. I flatly refuse to publish the private communications and the e-mail that we had at that time. And you also know the reason for that. I would expect you to ask me for documentation of "evidence" of that vicious episode of name-calling, juvenile profanity, obscenity, and incredible vilification on your part.

I have the complete transcript of that entire incident, both from the private mail and also the e-mails, to and from. I have it both on hard disc and in print form, as I do much of my e-mail. I value friendship too highly to think of putting that on this forum, as that would be betrayal of a friend. If you want further detail of that incident or if you have forgotten what I am talking about - (which I can hardly believe) - contact Boron. If he wishes to, I am sure that he can fill you in.

For my part, I wish you would just shut up about it. I am truly getting sick of this phony "innocence" . This is no business of various people on this forum including Mabuse, Humbert, Dude, or anyone else for that matter. So go ahead and put me down any way you like, and I'll return as I see fit, but quit the whining, for christ's sake (figure of speech)

JESUS FUCKING CHRIST PEOPLE! (figure of speech)

Can we all just stop crying for a minute? Put on your bigboy pants? Stop whining and crying? MAN UP!

Think of the aliens! THE ALIENS! People, what do you think the aliens are going to think of this thread? They are reading it RIGHT NOW on le Penseur's computer and laughing their asses off at how many fucking crybabies are posting here! (they told me so just a few minutes ago, via supersecret alien email)

So dry those eyes, turn those frowns upside down, and get back to letting this thread be about serious issues! Like how to prevent le Penseur's delusions from killing off the human race! THIS IS IMPORTANT STUFF! So get your goddamned tears the hell off this thread! It just makes the aliens more powerful!

Get a dictionary. There were several words in my last two comments that you clearly did not understand.

Dumb questions? I can't see where I have even asked a question since this comment. None of which you answered, a failure of yours on which others have commented. As far as you having to repeat yourself I consider that more of an intentional deception on your part to avoid dealing with more salient points. Something you have done quite a lot of in this thread.

If you are going to be critical of my comments at least use my language. Elevating what I said to the level of theory is exaggeration. This is just a distraction. I don't believe that you are still interested in supporting your encounters and to this point you have shown yourself incapable.

Now, don't let me down.

What an insightful question. Yes, They do have Elvis, but thanks to their advanced technology they have the early Elvis, the young, pretty, androgenous Elvis, not the old, bloated, joke of Las Vegas Elvis.
And, of course, we have no way of determining whether or not this is any more/less true than is le Penseur's other alien claims.

Not to mention a lot of people have watched a lot of sci-fi films of aliens, so if there is an unknown event, it's easy for the imagination to say "aliens did it".

Moakley, I apologize for sounding short with you, I should remain far more polite and thank you for playing along in the first place! Otherwise I'm just here talking to myself. It may seem like I didn't give your suggestion the weight you feel it deserves, and I can understand that. Just because I answered this before with other people, its no excuse for giving you less than full consideration and explanation.

So let I will be direct as possible :

You suggest that we were asleep.

But, I clearly stated my brothers and I were in the living room watching television in the early afternoon. I also made it clear that my mother was in the kitchen cooking food at the time.

You even try to say I was asleep in the 1968 encounter I started to discuss.

But, I told you in that encounter I was awake in my room, watching prime-time television.

I should have tried better to clear up any confusion. I told you we were awake, as we usually are around one in the afternoon. Actually everybody else is usually awake at that time of day too. It is not an unusual claim that that my family was awake at one in the afternoon. In fact, it would be unusual if we weren't.

But you really, really would prefer it if I was simply asleep and dreaming. I get that.

Now here's what happened after they took us at one in the afternoon: When we were returned, FIVE HOURS after we were abducted, the aliens telepathically instructed my family to go inside our house and go to sleep. It was now past dark. One of the aliens had a short discussion with me, then I went inside too. I was still wide awake, insisting to my brother that we should talk about what had happened, who they were, what the hell was that was all about?!?! But after a few minutes, my brother grew tired and fell to sleep. Exhausted, I eventually fell asleep too. I wasn't asleep too long, though, because I was awakened by my father coming home from work.

So: You say , BECAUSE this exhaustive, draining day ended with us going to sleep- THEN: you say, we must have been sleeping the whole time and simply dreamed the experience!

Now, my response is - everybody's day always ends by going to sleep, agreed? And when we wake up, every day, we remember what we did yesterday pretty accurately (barring drugs or alcohol), agreed? That's as true for me as everyone else.

Moakley , you say you nod off in front of the TV and have vivid dreams, correct? Then tell me, do you have difficulty discerning those dreams from reality the next day? I'm not being condescending, if you say you don't have trouble telling your waking life from your dreams, I believe that.

Well, I don't have any trouble telling dreams from reality either.

I hope that clears things up between us.

Now, Keep in mind, the four of us all have clear memories of this event to this day. We've all been interviewed separately over the years about this event. This makes it a certainty that it was not a dream.

What is interesting are the different points of view my brothers have of the event. For example, when I was paralyzed downstairs, they were hiding upstairs with my mother, in the attic. I saw the one alien to my right walk in through the solid wall and solid glass of the picture window, he went straight up, floating up through the ceiling of our dining room, in pursuit of my family upstairs. My brothers tell of how that alien stuck just his face into the attic through the solid wall and roof, saw them there, then walked in fully through the solid material.

I'm hoping we can continue to talk more clearly.

People have watched a lot of sci-fi films about zombies, too. Why isn't it equally common to hear "zombies did it".?

Vampires are more popular in the culture than aliens and zombies put together. But you don't hear anyone claiming to be abducted by vampires.

Same reason there are not thousands upon thousands of photographs and videos taken by witnesses of zombies and vampires.

Because aliens are largely a blank slate. It's possible to assign them all manner of unexplainable magical, even demigod-like powers--such as the ability to read minds or pass through solid matter--and explain it away as merely highly advanced technologies.

Vampires are more popular in the culture than aliens and zombies put together. But you don't hear anyone claiming to be abducted by vampires.
Not so much any more, no. In the past it was quite common to hear stories of encounters with malevolent supernatural entities. But times change. As mankind has learned more about the size of the Universe and our small place in it, spiritual visitors have been replaced by intergalactic ones.

Same reason there are not thousands upon thousands of photographs and videos taken by witnesses of zombies and vampires.
I don't know of any photos or videos of aliens either. Do you?
