Is this all you have? Endless appeals to authority? As much as I like Colbert, you're using a comedian play-acting as a right-wing blowhard to support your viewpoint.
You've become the worst kind of offense: boring.

Agumentum ad vecundiam.
Colbert was writing it to be funny and was not being serious as well as not being an expert in the field.

Dear Fripp, Please give us an example of what you would accept as proof that God is 100% bullshit. Stephan Hawking wasn't enough for you? Do you want a lab report? What would it contain? Blank sheets of paper?
The inventor(Thomas Huxley) of this cowardly philosophy of perpetual procrastination was so incredibly stupid he supported putting the Bible in schools. I would have thought that knowledge would be a stake in the heart of agnosticism and it would die forever like the bloodsucking monster it is. But no. Just like all cults you ignorant agnostics hang on to faint hope, ignore reality and make excuses for the foibles of the leader no matter how dumb he is.
How about you pinheads apply your best epistemological/metaphysical arguments to refuting the following observation. The argument seems to indicate that you agnostics have your heads up your your own asses. All I got was a feeble mentally challenged "who cares" back on page 12. Total or complete Agnosticism--see (2)--is self-refuting. The fact of its ever having existed, even in the formula of Arcesilaos, "I know nothing, not even that I know nothing", is questioned. It is impossible to construct theoretically a self-consistent scheme of total nescience, doubt, unbelief. The mind which undertook to prove its own utter incompetence would have to assume, while so doing, that it was competent to perform the allotted task. Besides, it would be Impossible to apply such a theory practically; and a theory wholly subversive of reason, contradictory to conscience, and inapplicable to conduct is a philosophy of unreason out of place in a world of law. It is the systems of partial Agnosticism, therefore, which merit examination. These do not aim at constructing a complete philosophy of the Unknowable, but at excluding special kinds of truth, notably religious, from the domain of knowledge They are buildings designedly left unfinished. Officiant, you should just admit you're a Catholic. After all, the handle you've chosen here is from the Medieval Latin verb for "to perform religious services." |

Who cares how the Catholic church defines agnosticism?
"Roman Church... carefully calculated for the destruction of all that is highest in the moral nature, in the intellectual freedom, and in the political freedom of mankind" - Thomas Huxley
I think you're right Dave. Officiant keeps sourcing the Catholic church. Why else would he do that? He's defending them against people like Huxley!!! |

Yeah, Officiant:- voluntarily took a religious alias here,
- quotes the Catholic Encyclopedia approvingly,
- quotes a Roman Catholic Sunday-school teacher approvingly,
- quotes a staunch defender of Anglicanism (Catholicism Lite) approvingly, and
- believes that angels exist.
While he correctly argues against the horrors of religion, he doesn't seem to realize that (a) he's doing much the same things as the horrible religious people, and (b) lots of religious people think "religion" is bad (because they're not "religious," they instead have a "personal" relationship with God).
It's been said that the best way to demonstrate the insanity of religious cranks is to let them keep on speaking, and as time progresses I see fewer and fewer reasons to believe Officiant is in any way an atheist. |

That's a complete non-sequitor. What does that have to do with the fact that you used a comedian (Colbert) play-acting in a role as an Appeal to Authority? That's all that you have. Instead, why don't you answer even one of your specious claims?
I predict that you'll follow this up with another meaningless Appeal to Authority. Are you so insecure in your beliefs that you need a Famous Name to lend credence to your argument?
BTW, I'm an atheist. I don't give one shit about these stupid little arbitrary "levels". I'm an atheist. Period.
Edit: As an atheist, I don't need proof that God does not exist. That's obvious to anyone with an ounce of intellect (that excludes you). What I would need is proof that God does exist in order to change my position to that of a theist. That's a very simple concept, but if you need to move your lips whilst reading this in order to facilitate comprehension, feel free.
In the mean time, how about supporting even a single one of your claims... just one would suffice |

Dear Fripp, When I first heard Stephen Colbert say, "Agnostics are just atheists without balls" I laughed out loud because it's very funny. You did not not find it funny. I'll bet you dropped your agnostic trousers and immediately took inventory. Did you find any? Never mind. When you finally grow a pair you can become a real Atheist. |

Dear Kil, Clearly you are unable or unwilling to apply your limited mental resources to seriously address the claim that agnosticism is self-refuting.
I have often seen parents teaching their children to ride bicycles with training wheels. Are agnostic atheists just using agnosticism as training wheels for when they can become real Atheists. Are you also agnostic about Santa Claus ?
