Great to hear HM is well and accounted for. Hope he chimes in here sometime soon. Sure have missed him and his Moonscape news. |

When I recently heard from my former ATT coworker phil_expat and from my brother, that I was missing, I finally decided to make a search for myself. I once was lost, but now am found!
I apologize to everyone.
Though there were some real factors, like stormy periods with no power and/or no Internet, and my loss of the password for my Google Mail account, the blame for my isolation is mainly upon my shoulders. I'm an irresponsible person in many ways. And I have an odd (and I hope rare) neurosis that kicks in when I am delinquent on any activity, which makes me fearfully avoid the steps needed for catching up. I mean it. I really do have a phobia about facing up to any backlog. I get all sorts of panic reactions when I try to overcome such a "mental block" (?). I then am enormously creative in devising "reasons" that other tasks should come first. The longer I neglect something, the harder it is for me to get it done -- which is the opposite of how I should react!
The condition evaporates completely (for the time being) when I finally get around to actually getting off the dime, as it were.
I think this condition is my only neurosis, but it's a whopper, and I estimate I've been like this at least for decades. Does anyone else here have this boneheaded neurosis? Misery would appreciate company.

Mooner.....
Neurosis? Sensitive to perceived procrastination? The longer it takes to face it, the worse it gets?
Shit, Mooner, you're just a whiney wimp. No real thinking, literate person would have emotional baggage like this. And sure as hell, there is nobody else on these elite intellectual boards that would publicly admit to such a weakness! Hah!
Do you really believe that nobody else around here has ever felt the guilt of "Turn on, tune in, drop out", at least as to the "drop" out part? Well, here's one. Every time I go away for a week or two, something keeps nagging me to get back in the water. And the longer I am distracted from shooting off my mouth, the greater the pain.
Finally, I feel compelled to jump into hunts that I really don't even have a puppy in, much less a dog! And that frequently elicits some pretty stupid reparteé! At least from me!
Mooner, it's great to hear from you. I, for one, have missed your inimitable humor and insight. And obviously there are many others here!
Give us another incredible Photoshop creation whenever you can get to it. Nobody does it like you do!

Meh. At least yours didn't #### up your entire life! Glad to have you back. Shit, I thought something bad had happened. |

Procrastination is a new word I learned recently, and though it does not reach the level of a true neurosis, I can certainly relate. I have at least a dozen projects at home just started but not finished. My hobby room/computer lab/music studio/game room shows the part; it's shock full of junk...

| Yeah, but so does Apple Computer have tons of abandoned or stalled projects at any one time. That's a healthy way of creative people. Me, I was sweating (not metaphorically) when confronted with something I loved to do. I think "neurotic" is not too strong a term. |
