In the beginning of our environment, 4.6 billion years ago, Yehovah created this universe, starting with the planet Earth. That is the precise rendition of Genesis 1:1. However, the following seven days, from Genesis 1:2 to Genesis 2:3 are not creation accounts, but rather non-linear days that represent seven different time periods. The Fourth Day was the only day of Creation Week which was shown to Moses. Moses wrote the following: “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:”. Although the King James’ Version says “and for seasons”, that is not what Moses wrote. He actually wrote “for appointed times”, as in the use of a calendar.
The sighting of the renewed (lower crescent) Moon in Jerusalem is the indication of a new month. If the barley crop has ripened to a certain point (Aviv) at the time of the crescent Moon, that indicates a new year, being the month (Nisan) that Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread, and the First Fruits (the Resurrection) wave offering takes place. What good is a sign, if it can’t be seen? God said that the celestial bodies of the universe, as seen from Earth, would be for signs (for mankind to see and act upon). My favorite celestial indication of a Creator, has been the Shoemaker-Levy 9 Comet. As I understand, there were 24 fragments nearly in a straight line when it was first discovered. Three were lost tract of, as only 21 fragments were said to have hit Jupiter. This was not a random event. I am confident that God was giving a forewarning to mankind, that “an appointed time” was approaching. Many times, men of ignorance have tried to predict a date when the end of the world, or the Second Coming of Jesus would occur. The Earth will never come to an end, no matter what you see in the universe. Yeshua (Yehovah) will not return a second (of three) time(s), until the anti-Christ has desecrated the rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem, killed the two witnesses (Elijah and Enoch), and those two have resurrected and are caught up back to Heaven. Look up on the Internet “the Great Disappointment”, of 1844 AD. Idiots since then had tried to give a date of the return of Yeshua, and the legal prerequisites had not been put in place yet. The sad part is that so many people believe such nonsense, sell their goods, and wait to be raptured. The even more miserable part of it all is that 80% of those people would not be taken in the rapture anyway. If they studied the Bible, they would know that those predictions were false. Even many true believers thought that Jesus would return in the year 2000 AD. When 2001 came…, and went…., perhaps they learned something. However, this writer is giving a warning of the coming seven year period of tribulation, which completes before the next return of Yeshua. It begins this year, about 125 days after the new Biblical Year, which will start the next time the renewed Moon is sighted in Jerusalem. The previous renewed Moon was determined by default on March 4th, but the barley was not yet “aviv”, so mankind receives a temporary reprieve, in the form of a thirteenth month, before the Final Countdown begins.
