Pleco, the headline you linked states "Airport Debunks Islamic Footwashing Myth". Then the article confirms that there are footwashing basins installed.
Double think at its finest. Orwell would be proud.

What a man believes upon grossly insufficient evidence is an index into his desires -- desires of which he himself is often unconscious. If a man is offered a fact which goes against his instincts, he will scrutinize it closely, and unless the evidence is overwhelming, he will refuse to believe it. If, on the other hand, he is offered something which affords a reason for acting in accordance to his instincts, he will accept it even on the slightest evidence. The origin of myths is explained in this way. - Bertrand Russell |

The poster said:
Michael would tell you that the Kansas City airport is planning to install basins designed for Muslims to wash their feet (and other body parts) before prayer. |
The article says:
McBride said the wash stations were installed about a year ago when the airport expanded the taxi facility and added another bathroom. He said the wash stations weren't made for the exclusive use of anyone or any group in particular. |
You should watch the video too.
No one is trying to say there aren't wash basins. They just weren't designed specifically for Muslim use.

Pleco, the basins are there, but they do not have a sign that says for Muslims, so its all debunked?
Keep in mind, I could care less if an airport wants to allow anyone to wash their feet for any reason the airport sees fit.
Do not let anyone pee on your leg and tell you it is raining.

So they have to prove that they are not for just for Muslims? Interesting burden of proof.
Anyway, I was just showing the other side to the post that was made. And now this is way off topic and I won't post in this thread again about this. If anyone wishes to continue, start a thread in the appropriate forum. |

Moderator: OK, folks. I don't see this thread returning to some semblance of the original topic, I'm locking it. So far, it's gone from same sex marriage to Goddess knows what to income taxes, to divorce, to foot washing basins.
Enough. If you want to start a different argument, open a new thread. |
