Oh, looky who's at #3.

Do you really recommend everyone on that list, or is it perhaps a not even slightly veiled attempt at masturbatory marketing?

Keep plugging away, one day, you too may equal the #1 on that list with the amazing "Imma die a hustler". I know music is subjective, but FFS that was some of the most generic, bland lyrics and music I've heard for some time.

I guess if it takes less than 4000 clicks to get to #1, you can almost certainly pull it off. When you're telling your friends & family to vote for you, I'd recommend not playing anything from the list to them as inspiration.

John's just this guy, you know.

Now that's obscure, Tor. I've only heard of one of the artists in the top 50 on that list, and I don't want to listen to any more of his music.

Santo & Johnny. Some excellent electric guitar and lap steel. They enjoyed some popularity in the '50's and '60s, then faded away.

I cleated, I cleated my jackknife when you did a-ppear,
Had a fight with you, I cut off your ear.
D'yodel lay, m'little darlin', don't you come here no more,
Take this as a warnin', get your ear from my floor.

I throwed, I throwed some sawdust where the blood puddles lie,
Saw you run screamin', I prayed you would die.
D'yodle lay m'little darlin', don't you come here no more,
Take this as a warnin', get your ear from my floor...

-- The Clamtones (obscure, obviously, but mostly pretty damned good. They only recorded a couple of alblums. The above was done a'capela.)
