"He was supposed to protect me from all evils and instead he gave me to Satan who encouraged me to kill," he charged."

Shouldn't He be suing Satan instead? Especially since the Bible does not say God will protect us from all evil. I guess God has more money.

Well...

Psalm 121:7

The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

But I think god in this case would be an accessory, so he should sue both.

Besides, God created everything, including Satan. And if God can punish children for the sins of their parents, I think it only fitting justice that the Creator be held responsible for the actions of the created.

Don't worry. Robert Duvall is god's consigliere. He'll give him an offer he can't refuse.

If this is a concern, I suggest making a hollow cross that fits over parking meters. Carry this in your car at all times. Place it over a parking meter to remind the meter readers that Jesus has already paid your fine.

The real problem with suing God would be collecting if you won. God appears to be "Judgment Proof" - having no assets to sieze. How the hell are you going to collect?

No assets at all? I'd have assumed the creator of the universe would have deep pockets. Ah well, I expect He's been hampered a bit by the whole "not existing" thing.

You and I both know that this is not the case. Christians sin (do evil) and evil things happen to Christians as well.

The semi-colon (most versions have a semi-colon) suggests that the two statements are intimately linked. They have meaning together and less meaning apart form each other. It is talking about preserving your soul from hell which God will do. Other verses that support this are Jn 17:11-12, Ps 91:14, Ps 69:29, Ps 64:1, Ps 138:7, Lk 17:33.

Also the first definition of preserve is "to keep alive or in existence; make lasting: to preserve our liberties as free citizens." http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/preserve I think this fits with this idea.

I think the Bible is clear that God owns everything. So I think He has pretty deep pockets. Maybe this is why He gets sued alot?

The New Living Translation is "The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life."

The Amplified Bible is "The Lord will keep you from all evil; He will keep your life."

The New International Version is "The LORD will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life;"

Ok. All these translations are saying the same thing in light of the context and what the rest of the Bible says.
