| Where do you get that from? This psalm is part of the songs of ascent that were thought to be sung on pilgrimages to Jerusalem. They are a songs about the characteristics of God. |

Whoa, whoa, whoa.....
God has no assets?
Have you seen the bank accounts of the Catholic church, mainstream Christian churches, and, for Bob's sake, the take from Televangelism.
He's rolling in it. (allegedly anyway. Something about God issuing a press statement about he's never heard of Billy Graham or Jerry Falwell and He'd wish they'd stop using His name.)
Only problem is getting a process server to get papers to Him.

You try proving in court that the money really belongs to God and not to some real-estate holding legal entity.

An anecdote about the late Lou gottlieb, bassist and arranger for the Limeliters:
After he moved to what became The Digger Farm, he underwent either a religious conversion (I surmise; I never heard him address it, but he apparently was a Christian/Buddhist of sorts) or a tax rebellion or both and in the late 1960s deeded the entire Farm (Morningstar Ranch) over to God. Not to a church, mind you. To God. This non-plussed the legal minds in Governor Reagans California, who were uncertain how to tax God, or serve him/her papers, or any of that. While the hypocrites groaned with their favorite postures - religion and tax exemption - at odds, a woman from the East Coast solved their muddle. She had been ruled hurt in an accident by an act of God. Fortunately, this guy God now had seizable property in California. She sued to get it. Well, you can just imagine. |

I'd have assumed the creator of the universe would have deep pockets. Ah well, I expect He's been hampered a bit by the whole "not existing" thing.
| I think the Bible is clear that God owns everything. So I think He has pretty deep pockets. Maybe this is why He gets sued alot?
|
But it is all registered in other peoples/organizations names. He must have anticipated being sued. Proof of onmisience?
God however would have problems defending him/her self in a lawsuit. Consider this old story
An engineer died and St Peter mistakenly told him he had to go to hell. Being the first engineer in hell, he immediatley saw the opportunity to make some improvments. Soon he had arranged for such amenities as flush toilets, air conditioning and escaltors. One day God called Satan and asked how things were in hell. Satan replied that conidtions had improved signifcantly since he now had an engineer on staff. God said "An engineer was sent to hell - there must have been a mistake send him up here right away!" Satan said "No, I like having air conditioning." God said "Send him up here right now or I will sue." Satan just laughed and said "And where are you going to get a lawyer." |

Heck, you talk to the fundie preachers and they claim that Gawd just lets them use the money for His work.
(Since they know He'll never actually ask for any.....)
