....it's clear that Mr. Goldberg matriculated at the Benjamin Netanyahu University in the Joseph Lieberman College of Forever Missing the Fucking Point!

Ironically, tying liberalism to fascism is an occasionally used and totally weird right-wing ploy. In a 2004 Bush campaign ad, Kerry, then FDR were both pictured immediately followed by a swastika. That ad drew objections.

When the fascists took over a country, liberals and free thinkers were among the many thrown into concentration camps.

It goes to show again that the far right must think the majority of Americans, including their Republican political base are stupid. Its a typically brainless, simplistic ploy and thanks to Stewart and many others doesn't get mileage.

.

Diversity, independence, innovation and imagination are progressive concepts ultimately alien to the conservative mind.

I still think it's funny that the ICR's famous "evolutionary tree" blames both Communism and Nazism on Darwin.

To Orwellingly Yurz,

What a typical response "kill the messenger." If you have some proof to refute Mr. Goldberg's claims; then, present it here and now. Until then, you are more ridiculous than you claim him to be about the Democratic Nazi Party.

I don't know why it's any worse to claim Hitler and Nazism espoused liberal values than it is to claim Hitler and Nazism espoused conservative values.

Read your history fellas. The Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei or NSDAP (National Socialist German Worker's Party), formed from the German Worker's Party in 1920, became about as foul a pack of ultra-right wing scumbags as any we have today, although some Republican groups seem to be trying desperately to compete.

I really don't give a rat's ass about anything Goldberg has to say, as evidently, he too, is ignorant of history, and little more than a political tool if he is not. Hell, he's a political tool in either event. I do think that tampering with his Amazon.com reviews was childish and stupid, and actually lends some faint credence to his drivel. It is what a Nazi would do, although all it proves is that there are morons on the left as well.

First of all, welcome to SFN, barry123!

Next, would you mind clarifying something for me?

What, exactly, is the Democratic Nazi Party? Is this similar to Log Cabin Republicans?

Who is claiming that?

Typically I abhor such comparisons to Nazis. However, Mel While the author of "Religion Gone Bad" does make a compelling argument with comparing the extremem Christian Right (Falwell, Robertson, et al) and Nazi's over their treatment of homosexuals. It is especially revealing when both parties speak about homosexuals and jews, respectively, as a "disease".

But to claim that about conservative values as a whole (which can vary quite a lot) is pretty rediculous.

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.
