quote: Thought, from what you posted here, Hawking was in the first group. Might be seein' things.
Nope, they did put him in the first group, but when talking about the face they dropped Hawking, probably because he doesn't believe in this BS.
I'm tired of hearing how these idiots are "galileo" while we are the "catholic church". They miss one thing Galileo had irrefutable evidence. A couple of blurry pictures that the mars face idiots can't even interpret the same way is hardly irrefutable.
I'm not sure what is wrong with Hoagland either, although he seems to be getting worse with old age.
Although I don't get after him for changing his mind (any good scientist will when presented with enough evidence) here is a quote in an article Hoagland wrote in 1974 (two years before the TWO viking pics were taken, anybody who changes their entire philosophy on TWO images is a nut in my case)
quote: "We believe in Martians, partially, because we want to believe in Martians. Subconciously we have always been lonely: ergo, our ready acceptance of any evidence that there is life elsewhere in this Universe. And Mars is so handy......"
Why We Won't Find Life on Mars by Richard C. Hoagland, Analog magazine Dec. 1974

He refuses to admit that he might need medication for his condition.
He wanted to be a scientist but wasn't *smart* enough, so instead he has to teach those elitists that he's smarter than they are.
His dad dropped him on his head when he was young.
He believes that were all spawns of space aliens and he and his followers are the only true earthlings left
Gee, this is kinda fun

Wait a second I recognize that image!!! That's the novelty glass that they serve "Samoan Fog Cutters" in at Trader Vic's. They are (wait for it) out of this world.

Sorry. I should have been more clear. I was just being a wiseass - In other words there is no such thing as too much LSD.
Regards,
Greg.
