It is now possible to "Bookmark" topics for easy access to often visited topics.

I tell you, this forum is wonderful. So many people make these great features that plug in so easily.

Thank you, but my job has been fairly easy. The foks that designed this forum and a lot of the snap on MODs deserve the real thanks. It still blows me away that all this is free.

Oh and I removed some code that was making the Pager burst to the top upon every refresh in that annoying way.

This isn't so much a feature as a fix. Some of you may have noticed that when you went to reply to a topic that every post was displayed below the reply box and that if there are a lot of posts that the page takes a long time to load at best and at worst could even time out.

Now it shows the original post immediately below the reply box followed by a few recent messages. If this is not the way folks would like to see it work let me know and I can go back to displaying everything.

Give us the option of displaying everything or just a few posts.

Actually I think it's more than a few posts, it's more like the last 15. Need more than that?

I'd like the option to have it put everything on the screen.

As well as the option to limit the amount on the screen.

Can do that. I just need to figure out the best way to add it to the interface so that it's not too confusing because there would be 2 "Reply to Topic" links.

Might be better to have it as a profile setting.

Hmmmmmm, very good idea. Give me a little time to get that working right. I also think I have something that might fix the preview problem.

This is a great site! But you must take time out to rest (for your good health). The site is easy to navigate (once one knows the magic words). You cannot change it around to please everybody. I do not know how you could possibly be able to have ALL of the best possible worlds here. Problems I have had in the past are no longer problems. It would not help to fix the chat area, because everybody seems to be doing a lot of chatting here on the Forum and would seldom go there. If they want to chat privately with somebody, that can be accomplished right from the Forum.

Great job. Don't change anything for me. It is perfect right as it is.

Now, you need an excuse to get some sleep.

ZZZZzzzzzz....

No time to rest! New chat room installed. It is called jIRC and is a java applet that connects users to a predetermined channel called #SkepticFriends. There are a ton of features I could implement, but first i would like to see if it works. Mac users will need to use Internet Explorer. Opera won't work. Security settings should at least be default and allow signed applets to operate.

Yes, @. Please rest once in a while. I do worry about you. Have you stopped smoking yet, it's not good for the computer you know.
Ok, I know, nag, nag. Sorry, but I care. You are doing such a great job.

In order to stop smoking, you have to plan it very carefully. Stop drinking alcoholic beverages first (because booze eliminates your needed willpower) and lose weight (because you are going to gain weight when you stop smoking). Select a time for quitting. Then you go to nicotine patches (but watch out for the stupid sexy dreams that come with the larger patches). You must not smoke while using the patches (because you will get a nicotine overdose which I understand can be fatal). Give up drinking coffee (because that often necessitates smoking), take a favorite pen to use as a substitute for the cigarette (to wave in the air like a cigarette), and inhale deeply, exhaling slowly (to mimic smoking). In two days, the desire to smoke should begin to diminish sharply. If you again smoke a cigarette, go through the whole procedure again. The money you will have saved by the "no drinking, no smoking" behavior will enable you to extend your list of adult toys (computers, pocket computers, etc.)

If you knew better, you'd do better. Sure...

Actually, I've been taking Zyban for a month. It's wonderful, wonderful stuff. You just sort of forget to smoke and as an added bonus you are in a great mood all the time. It does cause some insomnia, but that just gives me an excuse to stay up late ; )
